Chapter 21; Edward.

Seeing Isabella with those two guys made my blood boil. I knew I couldn't do much about it. It wasn't my place.

Seeing her again made me realize I had made a mistake. But I still couldn't go back on my word. I promised I wouldn't.

Brianna and I were dining at a new Mexican food restaurant. I had heard it was good and I knew Brianna loved her some Mexican food.

When we got there, I gave my car to the valet parking staff and Brianna and I headed in. She gasped as soon as we walked in. I followed her eyes and jaw tightened.

She was here. With them.

Brianna walked over to them leaving me standing alone to watch them. They spoke for a few moments until Brianna returned. I raised an eyebrow at her and she gave me an innocent smile.

"We, uh, kind of took their table."

"Oh." Was all I said because I didn't know what else to say. I mean, we rudely had taken their table. I sighed, I knew the right thing to do would be to invite them to dine with us. But truth be told, I didn't feel like doing the right thing today. I wanted to have a nice dinner with my sister.

Unfortunately, she did not see it that way.

"We have to invite them to dine with us. It's rude, Edward." Brianna said, I rolled my eyes which earned me a smack on the head. I held up my hands in surrender.

"Fine." I mumbled, and she walked away to talk to them. I watched Isabella, her face expresionless. There was a flash of emotion in her eyes, just for a second but then it dissapeared. Things between us were not yet fixed. I was hoping I could change that. Even though it was highly doubtful. She was definitely still mad at me.

A few minutes passed and Brianna came over, sending me look that said 'be nice.' I shrugged and she gave me her stink eye. Brianna could not be scary, even if her life depended on it. It wasn't in her. Things started off very awkward. We all stood there for about a minute until I remembered I hadn't talked to the hostess.

"Excuse me." I mumbled, and walked over to the hostess. She eyed me and quickly recognized me.

"Oh, Mr. Bass. Your table is ready." She said, sending me a flirty smile. I ignored it, and rubbed the back of my neck.

"I'm gonna need to add 3 more chairs to my table." She raised her eyebrow but did not question me any farther on the subject. She nodded and told me it would take five more minutes for the table to be ready. I nodded and stood there, not wanting to join the rest of my party. This dinner was set to be doomed. I mean, the girl I had feelings for was here, my sister and those two assholes with Isabella.

What the fuck, Edward? She's not your girlfriend. You cannot be jealous right now, I thought.

My subconscience was right. I couldn't be jealous. It was not my place. And I couldn't just be that way.

I sighed, and the hostess returned, letting me know the table was ready. I nodded and turned to call the rest of my table. Once we were all seated on the table, things got even more awkward. No one spoke a word. No one knew what to say. This was as awkward when I told my parents I was staying in New York and Brianna wanted to stay with me. Now, that was very awkward.

We all stared at each other, well most of us. Isabella was looking down, not saying anything either. I was watching her, she was beautiful. But, me being the idiot I was, did an idiotic thing and let her go. I shook my head shrugged. Which earned me an odd look from asshole number one. I think his name was Nathan. I can't be sure though.
