Chapter 20; Isabella.

The weeks had gone by slowly. I mostly just laid in bed and watched TV all day. That didn't sit well with Brianna. She was getting tired of me moping around. She felt like I needed to get out there. But the rejection from Edward was too much to me. I had actually given myself away to someone and it didn't end well.

Sighing, I turned to the other side of my bed. I switched the TV off when I heard Brianna walk through the front door, I pulled the blanket over my face and pretended I was asleep.

"Oh, you bitch. I know you're awake." She said, as she dropped her bag on my bed and jumped on me. I screamed and laughed. It felt nice to laugh.

"Have you been in bed all day?" She said, her voice dropping with disappointment. I smiled innocently and nodded. I knew she didn't want this for me.

"Oh, Bella. You need to get out there. My brother is a moron, but you. You aren't. You need to have fun. You're only 20 years old. You can't be moping around for someone." She said, and she was right. I was young. I should be meeting guys, and having fun. Not moping around for some guy that didn't want me back. I nodded and smiled.

We laid there in silence for a long time until I spoke up. "You know how you told me you knew I was a runaway too?" I suddenly had her full attention, and she sat up nodding at me.

"Well, to start off with, Isabella isn't even my real name." I said, with a shaky laugh. She raised an eyebrow at me.

"What do you mean?"

"It's Naomi." I said, and her eyes went wide. I'm pretty sure she had figured out who I was now.

"M-Maine?" She said, I closed my eyes and nodded. She let out a gasp and I opened my eyes, shrugging.

"Your parents have been looking for you, everywhere! Edward knows them." She exclaimed, then she gave me an innocent smiled and I shook my head. It wasn't a crime to say his name.

"I know. But they don't really want me. They don't care about me, Bri." I said, and she shook her head.

"Nonsense. They're your parents!" She said, I laughed, a fake laugh. She raised an eyebrow again for the second time that night.

"No, Bri. They never cared about me. They would put me off as long as they could. And they would come and spend time with me when they needed something. Like closing a movie deal or something like that. They didn't care." I said, tears in my eyes. I knew I shouldn't be so butthurt over that but it hurt to know that your own parents didn't want you. That the people who brought you into this world didn't give a damn.

Bri sighed and hugged me tightly. "I'm so sorry, sweetie. If you don't mind me asking, why you change your name?" She said, I laughed half-heartily and shrugged.

"Because I thought it'd be easier for them not to find me. I'm Isabella. Naomi? I don't know who that girl is." I said, while leaning back on my pillows, Brianna did the same and took a few minutes to take in the new information. She took it surprisingly well, and it honestly made me so happy that she was still here for me.

"Does Edward know?" She asked, I shook my head. And he didn't have to know. This didn't concern him.

"Nope, and he doesn't need to know. So please don't tell him." I said, and she nodded understandably. Maybe some day I would tell Edward, maybe I wouldn't. But for now, I don't think there was much hope of him and I talking again.

"They were there. In his office." I said quietly after a few moments of silence. I started to recall that day when I walked into Edward's office and they were both sitting in front of him. I freaked, and completely lost my cool. They had thought I looked like her. I mean, I was her. But they knew the 15 year old version of me. Not me.
