Alexis's Pov.
Hydra is a bastard. That my other motto.
They ruin lives and destroy families. I should know. They're the ones who destroyed mine. I was 12 when they were murdered.
Now I didn't have siblings... but I know that they were planning to have another kid. I was really hoping for a sister or something. But of course those snakes had to come along and ruin everything.
Hydra is a bastard. And that's final, nothing can change my mind about that.
I was making my way back home after meeting up with Simon at Mcdonald's. I was holding a bag full of fries in my right hand as I made my way to my apartment. I pulled out my keys and put them into the lock unlocking the door.
I leaned against the door, pushing my weight onto it. The stinken thing wouldn't even budge, like usual. But when it finally did it flung open making me stumble and fall. I fell flat onto my chest, which forced an 'umf' to come out of my throat. I slowly stood back up and brushed the dust off of my clothes. The takeout bag laid next to where I had been, the golden french fires scattered across the dirt covered floor.
I sighed heavily and bent down, picking up the wasted food before throwing it in the garbage. It was only right then did I notice a man sitting on my couch.
"Can I help you?" I snapped as I slowly made my way over to the piece of furniture.
The man stood up and turned to look at me. He had brownish grey hair that was well groomed and slicked back in a government sort of style. He had bald spots creating an arch pattern at the front of his hair. He was dressed in a suit and had a stern and emotionless face.
"Actually I think I can help you," he replied and stuck out his hand, "I'm Phil Coulson. AKA the welcome wagon."
"The welcome wagon?" I asked raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"Ya. I'm here to recruit you," he responded.
I flinched at the word recruit. That's what Hydra had told my parents when they had first come to the house.
I closed my eyes and clinched them closed trying not to get a flashback to that night. I never liked to remember that night. I managed to push the flashback to the back of my mind and opened my eyes to still see Coulson in front of me.
"You're with Hydra," I hissed, anger filling my body, and fury sparking my eyes.
"No! NO! You got me wrong!" Coulson exclaimed before continuing, "I'm with SHIELD."
The anger started to subside but I still didn't trust the dude. He broke into my apartment.
"What the hell is SHIELD?" I asked raising my chin ever so slightly.
"SHIELD is a peace protecting agency. We work hand in hand with the Avengers," Coulson explained.
"The Avengers? Like I'm suppose to believe that!" I scoffed.
"It's true. That's how we know that you have the power of cosmic," Coulson replied.
I glared at him, narrowing my eyes, "How do you know that?" I hissed clenching my teeth.
"I told you. I work with the Avengers," he responded.
"And how am I suppose to believe that?" I asked.
"Because. I'm going to give you an offer," Coulson answered, "You have over 30 crimes under the allies of Comet. Now if you come with me and join SHIELD's new N.A program those crimes will disappear. But, If you don't. Then I'll have to take you in."
I took in a breath debating over the choice.
I looked at Coulson, "If I join you what will happen?" I asked.
"Well... You'll join the N.As and fight for a better world," Coulson responded.
"But what are the N.As?" I questioned.
"The N.As is a new program. SHIELD recruits potential heroes and the Avengers train them," Coulson replied.
"Avengers?" I exclaimed.
"Well... soon to be Avengers. The J.As you know them right?" I nodded before he continued, "Well they're becoming the new Avengers and someone has to replace the J.As level. N.A stands for the Next Avengers. We would like you to study and be taught under them along side other teens with different abilities," Coulson explained.
I took in a breath, letting the info set in.
"So You want me to be an Avenger?" I asked.
"Ya... Pretty much," he replied.
Alright I wasn't expecting this.
