"A guy. A freaking guy!" I punch the bag even harder, letting the dust fly in the air.

"And what did you tell them?" My friend James stepped from behind the bag, taking a drink of his water. He wiped the sweat from his face and sat next me.

"I told them to shove it." I took another quick drink before heading for the weights.

"All that aside, it's actually a really smart business idea. Kingman enterprise it ranked number two, right behind your family's company. If both companies merge as one, it can actually help with our economy. They will be able to provide more job opportunities, less waste from merging into one company." To be honest, I was ignoring him. My attention was on the sexy Brazilian trainer. She didn't think I knew she was staring at me, but the reflection on the gym mirror was a dead give away. She was purposely bending low, just so I would see her ass. "Damn it Carter, are you listening?"

"Nope." He shook his head before lifting weights right next to me. James has been my best friend since we were kids. He's studying business, hoping to one day start a business of his very own. I admire him for having a dream, it's just not my dream.

"Carter, do you really not care about this? You don't plan to one day take over for you dad?"

"Nope." I went up a weight higher. "My plan is to keep traveling the world, seeing everything the world has to offer, and doing whatever the hell I want. That's it." We were silent after that for a while. He was always telling me to stop being selfish and help my old man. That I should start settling down and learning the business. But I shut him up every time. I don't care about the old man's business, and I don't want to take over.

"Are you at least going to meet the guy?" James is the only man I know who doesn't find the idea of me marrying a man strange. Now a days it's totally normal, and I'm cool with that. Just not when I have to be the one marrying some guy.

"Sadly. The dude's mom is a total knock out, you should have seen her. She was like a wet dream come to life. She told me to at least meet her son. And when she looked at me with those gray eyes of her, it was like I couldn't say no." I put the weights down and headed for the showers. James did the same and we went to grab our towels from the lockers.

"So when are you meeting him?"

"Tonight." I slammed the locker door harder than planned, but I was pissed. "The old man is dragging me to some dinner at their house to meet their son. I hope once I meet him I can convince him this is nuts. I doubt the guy wants to marry another guy."

"And if he's gay?" I hadn't thought about that. What if this guy is actually gay, and totally into the idea. I don't care, I'm still not doing it.

"Won't make a difference, cause it's not happening!"

I checked my reflection in my mirror. My hair was styled to look messy, but I still looked good. The same blue eyes I shared as my mother were staring back. I wonder what she would tell me right now if she was here. What would she say about the life I've been living? She'd smack me that's for sure.

"Sir, the car is ready." One of the servants called from behind the door. I let out a breath and exited my room. I took the stairs slowly, tying to prolong it. But sadly, I still managed to get to the car.

"You better behave yourself tonight Carter, no funny business." I ignored him and looked out the window. The city lights reflecting off the windows off the car. I wish I was out at a bar right now, so I could drink all this away.

Ten minutes later we arrived at a large mansion. It was just as big as ours, and just as nice. The front yard was decorated with flowers and small bushes trimmed perfectly. A large fountain sat in the center of it all. I guess miss Val has a good eye for detail.

We got out of the car and walked up the large stairs. We didn't even have to knock, someone opened the door right away. A old man in a suit stood on the other side of the door. His white hair slicked perfectly back, not one hair out of place.

"Sir McClain, welcome. The master and madam are already waiting in the dinning room. Please, allow me to show you the way." We thanked the man and followed him down a long hallways. I saw so many painting on the wall, each one quite interesting. "Here we are sir." He opened the door for us, and moved to let us in.

"Charles, Carter, thank you for coming." Like I had a choice? He stood up and shook our hands. His wife placed a kiss on both mine and my father's cheek. I could have sworn I saw the old man blush.

"Thank you for joining us. Please sit. Ethan is on his way, he got caught up in school." We sat down and I was handed a glass of wine. Good, I'm gonna need a lot of this to forget this night.

"That's alright. If I may, what is he studying?"

"Business. He is going to take over the company on our end once I retire." At the mention of him taking over, my father gave me a quick look. He can guess again if he thinks I'm doing the same.

"That's wonderful to hear." Thank god the food came. They set a plate on each of our mats, and one for this guy whenever he gets here.

"Here you are sir." The maid was a cute little thing. Short, nice curves, brown hair done in a perfect bun. I looked into her brown eyes, and I swear she was frozen in place.

"Thank you." I flashed her a smirk, and she lit up light a damn Christmas tree. She quickly bowed and walked away. What's with the bowing? Are they royalty or something?

We were halfway into our dinner, and I was half way into trying to kill myself with a damn butter knife, when finally the doors leading to the dinning room opened.

"Young Master has returned." The butler stepped to the side, and in walked a tall slender guy. He looked like his mother. Same deep gray eyes that seemed to read you like a book. Pink lips, perfectly cut short hair that stopped just above his eyes. He had 'Pretty boy' written all over him.

"Mother, father." He greeted his parents and quickly sat down. He had such a soft and gentle voice. You could hear a bit up husk in it, but it was still soft. "I'm sorry I'm late. Classes ran longer than expected."

"It's alright dear. Ethan, this is Alastor McClain and his son." He greeted my father and then turned to me. He smiled the nicest smiled I have ever seen. He looked so, innocent.

"Hello Carter, it is nice to finally meet you." He extended his hand for me to shake, but I simply nodded my head. If me being a dick is what it's going to take for this to be cancelled, then so be it.
