"Here we go." After my talk with my dad, I went and got changed. I showered, and changed into some jeans and a black shirt. I left my hair messy, and went to knock on his door. I only had to wait about three seconds before he opened.
"Carter? Hi, what can I do for you." That smile was still on his face. He was shirtless, wearing only a pair of jeans, and a towel around his neck. Water droplets sliding down his bare chest.
"I wanted to talk. May I come in?"
"Yeah, come in." He stepped aside and let me in. "Sorry, I just got out of the shower." I looked around his room. It looked the same as mine, only he cleaned everything up nicely.
"It's okay. I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me?" I looked over my shoulder at him when he didn't respond. His mouth was hanging open, and cheeks were turning red.
"Like, a date?" Normally I would punch a guy for saying that, but I could never hurt Ethan. In the short time I have known him, he has made more of an impression on me than any woman. His beauty alone could rival any of them. He was like a male version of his mother.
"Sure. I mean technically you are my fiance. Why not consider this a date?" The normal smile on his face seemed to grow bigger, he really was happy. Could it be, that he actually had strong feelings for me? As tempting as that is, I can't allow that. A pure little soul like him, I could never.
"Okay. Let me just finish getting ready." He ran into his closet to look for a shirt. I grabbed a sit on his balcony. He was across from me, so he had a view of the water. I watched the waves hit the beach. The warm breeze hitting my exposed skin. "Ready." I turned and saw he put on a white tee with a gray thin sweater. His brown hair falling just above his eyes, allowing me to see those incredible gray eyes of his.
"You look good, let's go." We walked out and he locked his door. We silently made our way out the hotel, and into the busy night streets. We stopped by the plaza, the lights around it making it look beautiful. You could hear the sound of kids running around, music, the smell of all the foods. I looked at Ethan and saw him smiling brightly. His beautiful face glowing from all the different lights.
"It's amazing." He was too busy looking around, he didn't notice me staring at him.
"Yeah, it is." If only it was the plaza I was talking about. I need to know, what this feeling really is. If I am only behaving like this because Ethan is so innocent, or because I actually fell for a man.
We stopped and got some food at one of the local shops. Ethan wanted to look around more, since he hadn't been to the Bahamas before. He was awe struck by everything he saw, only adding to his innocence.
"Hey, I'm gonna head to the bathroom. Wait right here." I got up from the bench I was sitting on. He was watching a street performer, but he turned at the sound of my voice.
"Okay, be careful."
"Always." I made my way to the bathroom. I splashed my face with cold water, and stared at my reflection in the mirror. "How?" I watched beautiful woman after beautiful woman pass me by, but felt no attraction. Even when one brushed up against me at one of the stores, all I did was push her off me. Deciding not to worry about that now, I made my way back to were Ethan was.
"Come on, it's just one drink. We really wanna hang out with you." I looked up and saw some girls standing around Ethan. He was standing next to a tree, and seemed uncomfortable.
"Ladies, I really can't." He took a step back until his back was pressed up against the trunk of the tree.
"You don't think we're pretty?" One of them tried to give him puppy dog eyes, but only succeeded in making herself look Cross-eyed.
"No, it's not that. It's just." I guess even though he is also into girls, he doesn't know how to deal with them.
"What? Are we not good enough?" Before I could step in, a group of guys showed up out of nowhere.
"Amber!" They all turned around as the guy and his friends approached. "What the hell do you think you're doing hitting on my girl?!" He pulled the girl with short blond hair back.
"I wasn't. These young ladies asked me if I wanted to have a drink with them." I could see he was really getting worried now.
"He's lying Babe, we weren't!" Okay bitch, that does it. Before the big guy could even dare lay a hand on Ethan, I stepped in.
"Hey!" They all turned to face me, and I saw relief on Ethan's face. "Care to explain what the hell is going on here?"
"Back off pretty boy, this has nothing to do with you!" He had his fist by his side, and his girl was sending me flirty looks. Sluts these days.
"Well it does actually. Since that's my fiance your threatening." They all stared at me in shocked, even Ethan. Hell, I was shocked myself. But it can't be helped now. "Ethan." He didn't hesitate. In the blink of an eye he was at my side. I took his hand in mine, and was surprised when he didn't pull away. "I saw the whole thing. If I were you, I would have a serious talk with your girl. She's been eye fucking me since she saw me."
"Amber!" She was so busy doing it, she didn't notice when the attention was focused on her.
"Now, if you will excuse us." I tugged on Ethan's hand and we walked away. From what that Jackson guy said, I was expecting for him to let my hand go. But he didn't. For the rest of the night that's how we walked. Holding each other's hands until it got late, and I escorted Ethan to his room. I must admit, this was one strange night. But I had fun.
