"I think I'm gonna throw up." The next morning Ethan's mom woke us up bright and freaking early to get ready. Did you know it was still dark at five in the morning? That means we should still be asleep! But thankfully everything got done in time.
"Dude, you'll be fine!" I was currently in my room at the mansion Ethan's parents had built for us. I could see mine and his family taking their seats. The backyard was amazing, and transformed to look like a chapel. "Just remember, you'll soon have Ethan by your side again." I closed my eyes and thought of him, it really was helping me calm down.
"Carter, they're ready for you." Jenny stepped in wearing a light pink dress that stopped at her knees, showing off her long tan legs. The dress straps wrapped around her neck, and it was backless. Looking at her now, she truly has grown into a beautiful young woman. The old me would have probably made some stupid comment that would have earned me a smack from everyone here. But thanks to a certain someone's influence, I wasn't that same guy.
"Jenny, you look beautiful." I saw her cheeks turn a bright shade of red. I guess I haven't completely changed. The man still has his touch.
"T-thanks. Ethan and his mother helped pick it." She cleared her troat and stood up straight. Me and James laughed at her trying to be serious. "Anyway! Let's go, we're starting."
"Here we go." I walked out and towards the double doors leading to the backyard. The music played, and I walked down the aisle with my head held high. On the outside I looked calm, inside I felt like I was about to shit myself. My stomach was in a knot, and my palms were sweating. I got to my spot next to the guy who was going to marry us. I turned to face everyone. My family was smiling, and I swear I saw my old man cry. I felt James give me a pat on the back, he was trying to calm me down.
The music played and next thing I know, the world stops. He steps out the double doors with Jenny at his side. His face is flushed, but he looked amazing. The black suit he wore was tailored to fit him perfectly. His hair was slicked back, making him look sexy as hell. He walked towards me, and by the time he had reached me, I had fallen in love all over again.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the union of these two souls." I only heard part of what he was saying. The whole time, my attention was focused solely on him. "The young couple have agreed to recite their own vows. Carter, you may now recite your vows." I hadn't realized he was talking to me until James nudged my shoulder. This caused everyone to laugh, and Ethan to smile. I cleared my troat and looked at him.
"Ethan, I am at a loss for words. Normally I can think of something to say on the spot, but with you, I can't. To even come close to describing what you mean to me, it would take me years. Years that I vow to spend with you. We may not have met in the most conventional way, but I don't regret it. You turned a dirty good for nothing player like me, into a man who thanks god every day he gets to be with you. You are so pure and innocent, and wonderful. I promise to show you how much you mean to me every day. And if there are days where I might forget, I want you to remember that's just me being the idiot that I am. I don't deserve you, god I don't deserve you." I had tears running down my cheeks at this point, and he did too. "But I vow to become a man worthy of an angel like you. I love you." He had to cover his mouth with the back of his hand to keep from crying out loud.
"Ethan, now you may recite your vows to Carter." He nodded and wiped his eyes with a tissue a very emotional Jenny gave him.
"Carter. The moment my parents introduced us, all I could think was 'he can't be real'. You looked like you belonged in a Greek museum as one of their gods. The more I got to know you, the more I fell in love. You always call yourself dirty or tainted, but you aren't. You have one of the most pure souls I have ever met. You make me feel like I'm flying, and you bring up these feelings in me that no one else can. You are my other half, my stronger half, my better half. No one would ever scold me when I did something wrong, make me laugh without a care in the world. I look into your eyes, and I fall in love over and over again. I beg god everyday that he never take you away from me. I couldn't imagine a life without you in it. You're my everything Carter, and if we ever fight I want you to remember how important you are to me, I love you."
After the vows, and the three minutes it took for James to calm my ass down, we exchanged the rings. We both decided on silver bands with our initials on the inside. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you both as husband. You may now kiss the groom." We leaned forward until our lips connected. This kiss was by far the most special one, since it was like a seal stating he was mine and I was his. I eventually did tell him about our first kiss, he was mad. But not that I kissed him while he slept, more that I didn't wake him up so I could do it.
After the wedding we had the reception. Half my relatives were drunk, Ethan's half was dancing like crazy. Some of our families even ended up hooking up some how. By the middle of the night we had to say good bye. We said bye to everyone and got into the car that was driving us to the airport.
"Carter?" I looked down at Ethan who had his head on my shoulder. He was playing with the silver band on his finger, with a bright smile on his face.
"Yes?" I ran my fingers through his hair, earning me a small calm sigh from him.
"I'm now your husband."
"I know, and I'm yours." I took his hand and kissed the top of the wedding band. "Now, and forever."
