Chapter 58

I rolled through the mall on Dad's hoverboard that I "borrowed." I was deliberately avoiding any mall cops because I knew they would make me carry it. As I glided through I got a lot of disapproving looks from the elderly and older adults alike. I inwardly laughed.

Finally, a mall cop spotted me. "Hey you! Get off that thing!" he yelled at me. I didn't. He chased me down all the way into Aeropostale. I finally got off and he escorted me to the security office. He sat me down on a bench next to a brunette boy. As I sat down I noticed he was moving a hoverboard across the floor with his feet.

He grinned when he saw me. "You too?" I laughed, his smile was contagious. "Yeah, he chased me from Victoria's Secret to Aeropostale." He laughed and held up his hand for a high five. I gave him one and leaned back on the bench. "I'm Ryan, by the way."

"Rainy."

He nodded. "I guess I'll probably be in twice the trouble now considering this isn't my hoverboard, it's my dad's and I got caught by security." Ryan laughed and nudged me with his elbow, "We're in this together." I laughed. They had apparently made an announcement and I saw Dad angrily walking towards us. "Oh shit," I muttered and Ryan snickered beside me.

"Why the hell do you have my hoverboard?" Dad asked. "Well uh, you see, I was just borrowing it," I said.

I looked up at him and saw him laughing. "That was great, I heard he chased you from VS to Aero!"

I laughed and saw Ryan staring at us bewildered. "But seriously, don't take my hoverboard again, I don't want you to get hurt." I nodded.

"Well, you can go off again now, the hoverboard is your bail, you can take your little friend of yours with you," he said winking. I blushed and thrust the hoverboard into his hands. I could see Ryan smirking beside me, to which I elbowed him.

I stood up and we started walking toward the food court. We people watched and ate pizza for a while until Ryan's brother came up.

"See you have a little friend here," he said nudging Ryan with his elbow. Ryan glared at him, "Fuck off Parker."

He laughed and help his hands up, "all right, all right, just being friendly."

"I'm Parker," he said extending his hand to me.

I hesitantly shook his hand. "I'm Rainy."

He nodded and got up, winking as he rose. I internally groaned. Why did everyone think all guys wanted to date me or some shit?!
