Chapter Twelve
Ariel's POV
It's been two days since he left, and I feel nothing. Well more numb than anything. I've barely eaten, and when I do, it isn't much. I don't watch tv, I just stare mindlessly at the door, hoping he'll walk back through. But he never does. I lost my passion to play at work, home, and even the warehouse. I haven't been there since that day, because it only reminds me that he's not here. The customers at work have noticed my lack of interest, asking me if I'm okay. I just simply smile and nod. I don't like to involve people in my personal life, because as you can see, I'm a mess.
I didn't realize I had stopped playing, what little I was, until Bryson tapped me on the shoudler.
"Ariel, have you been okay lately?" He asked sencerly. (sorry If I spelled that wrong)
"Huh? Oh..um, yeah. Just exhausted." I responded with no emotion at all.
"You can always talk to me. I won't judge, I don't even have to talk back, but if you ever need someone to just listen, you know where I am." He said with seriousness and a little smile.
"Thanks." I replied simply with a smile in return.
Truth was I wasn't fine. I was slowly loosing my mind, and I had nothing to distract me. I wish he could feel the pain he caused me, but none of this wouldn't have happened if I didn't walk out a year ago. But, he cheated. Yes, he cheated, but I could've stayed and talked it out with him, slapped him, yelled at him...something. But instead I just walked out, with only a note to reveal my trail.
I got up from my stool, and headed home after closing. The thing I hated coming home to was silence. The only sound you could hear was my slow breathing and the slight wind from the trees.
Why did he have to leave? I know I left the first time, but he was the reason I left. Well not him in particular, it was what he did. I could've given him anything he wanted, except for one thing, because where I come from, I believe that you should save yourself for that one person. That one person that you give all your love and heart to. It makes it a million times more special. And that's why he cheated, because I couldn't please him when he wanted, so he found another girl to do it for him. It sickens me to know that some other random girl touched him like that, when I should've been the only one, well that's what Harry clames I was.
But now, the only one here is me. I'm left alone to my thoughts and it drives me insane knowing I have nothing else to think about. And no one to bloke to, I have no one...
I slowly made my way to the kitchen and opened the utensil drawer. I pulled out the long blade. This wasn't what this knife is intended for, but it'll have to do. I put the silver metal to my wrist and took a deep breath, letting a few tears fall in the process. I knew this wasn't like me, and this is certainly not someone I want to become, but I need to feel something...anything.
Little red dots pile on the floor in a small pool. I put the knife in the sink, and rinse my wrist. At least this is winter time, so it will have time to fade before I will be able to wear short sleeves.
I slump down to the floor in a hemp, and just sit there, thinking about what I just did. No one was here to stop me, and I shouldn't have had a reason to do this in the first place, but what's done is done.
Harry's POV
"Got everything?" Tom asked while I took the last suit case from the car. "I think so mate." I replied. "I hope what your doing comes out for the best. Ryn may see this as "just another girl"," Tom began while putting air quotes around those three words, "but me on the other hand, can tell she means the world to you, the way your eyes tell a story when her name is mentioned. All the signs are there mate, pointing you to her." He finished.
"Flight number 067 to New York City, is now boarding." The entercom rang thorugh my ears.
"Go.." Tom said while getting up and giving me a hug. "Thanks so much for understanding why I have to leave home Tom. I just can't be somewhere she's not anymore." I said with a little bit of guilt in my voice, well I mean, Tom and Ryn are really the only two people in my life, other than my mum and sister.
"You don't have to feel sorry. You can't fight fate. And hopefully one day, I'll be going through all these stakes just llke you are for the girl of my dreams." Tom said.
"You will mate. I promise and any girl would be lucky to have you." I said with a smile while giving him one final hug.
"Come visit us sometime. Well "us" if it happens. Okay?"
"I will, let me know how it goes."
"Sure thing, see ya."
I checked my luggage in and took my travel case on the plane. I have a thirteen hour flight ahead of me, with only one girl on my mind.
