Chapter Six
Ariel's POV
Harry left every to try and get a descent table next to the piano. I'm nervous, but ecstatic at the same time. I want nothing more than to go back to the way things were before.. but I'm afraid it'll happen again, and I'll fall for his sweet caring words all over again.
I get dressed in dark wash jeans, a flowy white dress shirt, cheetah mary-janes and my burnt orange peacoat. I have little make up, but just enough. I curled my hair that hit half way down my back, and pulled it into a crown. I grab my wallet, phone and head out the door. Something in the back of my mind is telling me to turn around, go home, curl up on my couch and watch sappie love stories. But my heart is telling me "YOU LOVE HIM! AND HE'S HOT, WHY NOT?!" They're having this huge battle and I wish that one would win already.
The restaurant is already packed out tonight, considering it's a Saturday. I love the atmosphere of this place, the low lit lighting and elegant decorations. People are conversing by the bar, and piling in by the minute. I set my things in the employee room, and head out to the piano. I walk up the little spiral staircase, and before I sit down I notice that something's not right. There were two pianos on the little stage, with Harry sitting on the stool of the other.
"Harry, how did you do this?!" I asked enthusiastically.
"I pulled a few strings with Bryson, he was more than happy to let me bring a second piano, seeing as it brings more customers." he said with a chuckle.
"Mrs. Roberts, can I have the wonderful honor of playing with you tonight?"
"Absolutely."
Harry makes his way over to his piano, as I do the same. As I'm about to take my seat, I take a second look at the stool and notice it's not the shiny black one that matches the grand piano, but it's mine. The one he had custom made for me. I smile in my head, not wanting to give away that he made me smile knowing he was in the room. I take a seat, and flip my hair out of my eyes to have a better view of the keys and the room around me. As soon as I do, I let my fingers take over, and play. I play like I never have before, and let all my emotions that's been sturring in my mind for the past few days out on to the keys to create a song I long for. Being a musician makes me who I am, and lets me express myself the only way I know how, not by talking, but making music.
I look up to find Harry looking at me with a sheepish smile on his face staring into my eyes. He catches me catching him looking at me, and looks down quickly. I chuckle to myself until I hear him joining in harmony with me. The harmony is beautiful actually. The way I would pick up the tempo, but Harry would come in with his strong notes and slow it down to give contrast.
The harmony slowly comes to a finish, recieving a warm round of applause from the customers before they went back to eating and mingling. This is what I wanted the results of tonight to be. No ackward silences, or speaking of the past. Just having a good time, doing what we love, playing piano.
"That was beautiful....just like you" I heard his deep british accent speak instantly making me blush.
"Thanks." I replied simply. I don't want this to end between us. I want to be happy with him, but without the reminders of our past that broke me a year ago. I want him to try to fix it.
"Harry?"
"Yes, Ariel?" he reponds looking directly into my blue eyes while I get lost in his emerald ones.
"Oh..umm, I was wondering if you want to go with me to the Yankees game tomorrow? I know you have been to an American baseball game, and I don't know, I just thought it would be fun..for us."
"What time do I need to pick you up tomorrow?" He replies with a smug smirk on his lips.
Maybe this won't be terrible to be with him again....
-----------------
"Ariel, maybe we should go home. It's two a.m. and we have to get up early for the game."
We've been talking for hours now. No particular subject at all. Just talking, laughing, and enjoying each other presence. We were laying on the pianos, glancing up at the ceiling. Bryson let us stay, giving me the keys to lock up. Bless him.,
"Maybe you're right." I replied.
"I'll walk you home." Harry stated.

"So I'll see you in a little while yes?" he asked while walking me into the lobby. He chuckles because of the time.
"Of course." I say returning the smile.
I begin to walk towards the elevator to head up to my apartment. when he does the unexpected. He grabs my wrist gently, but with enough force to pull me back to face him. He kissed my forehead lightly, making me go weak at the knees. His lips linger there for a few seconds before pulling away, his lips still brushing my forehead. His warm breath tickling me ever so lightly.
"Goodnight, Ariel." He says looking straight through my soul. His eyes have a sudden sparkle in them that I used to see everyday a year ago, that I've desparately missed.
"Goodmorning, Harry." I say with a giggle considering it's 2:30 in the morning. He returns the laugh, looks at me on last time, nods, and leave the building.
I press the up button on the elevator, and wait for it to come down to the lobby. I hear the bell ding, step inside and press the number to my floor. I leaned against the wall, "Woah." I mumbled to myself.
Hopefully tomorrow will be just as good as tonight.
