Chapter Sixteen
Ariel's POV
One Week Later
I just left Stephen Mitchell's office, finalizing my contract. I never thought in a million years I would be writing music for a high-end recording studio, and one person made it happen. One person came back and saved me from a situation that possibly could have scarred me for life. One person came back and did everything possible to get me to consider being with him again. One person came back and talked to a top recording producer to have me pursue my dream.
And I am deeply, incredibly, crazy in love with that one person.

I searched for my keys in my never ending bottom purse and unlocked the door.
"Harry?" I called out as I walked in the apartment, tossing my keys on the kitchen counter basket. I didn't receive an answer, all I got in return was silence. I was about to call his name once more, but once I turned the corner to the living room, my mouth dropped.
Balloons scattered about the living room, varying from white and peach, with one silver reading Congratulations across the center. A single daisy was placed on the coffee table. I stepped towards it and discovered an arrow underneath, made from what seems like white duct tape. I looked into the direction it pointed, and saw another, which led to another. I smiled talking in the scene once more before following the arrows to the unknown location.
Once I reached the last arrow, I gazed upwards to be met by a pair of jade eyes sparkling brightly at me. He was leaning over the piano, holding his weight up with his elbows, fingers locked around themselves. Upon the top of piano was an assortment of things. Snacks, more gummy worms than anything else, bottled Coca Colas sitting in a little tub of ice. A huge pile of music sheets in a stack with a few scattered about, freshly sharpened pencils laying on top. A few blankets and jackets were draped upon the lounge chair in the corner of the balcony. I couldn't quite add up the pieces on what my surrounding were suppose to be, until a voice cleared up my confused expression.
"I figured we could start writing your first song, and I wanted to be prepared for the time we would spend out here." He said, smiling at me, dimples evident on his cheeks.
"You," I paused while poking the tip of his nose, "are adorable." I replied smiling up at him.
"Shall we?" He asked while gesturing to start the long road of writing ahead of us.
"We shall." I replied while taking his hand, kissing his lips gently, before taking my seat.

Stephen's POV
Once Ariel left my office, I noticed she accidentally left her phone in the chair across from my desk. Must have slipped from her pocket. I couldn't leave the office quite yet, so I decided to take it to her once my work day ended.
Thankfully, I had her address, needing it for billing and mailing purposes. I typed the address in my phone noticing it was only five blocks from the studio. It didn't take difficulty in finding her apartment. I knocked on the door, but she didn't answer. I was about to head home, when I heard music playing from inside. Music that wasn't coming from a radio, but being played by someone.
My curiosity over come me as I checked to see if the door was locked, which it wasn't. I stepped inside and followed the beautiful sound of a piano and an amazing harmony of two voices. I found the source of the melody.
I just stood there leaning against the door frame leading out to the balcony. The way their voices complimented each other was very intriguing.
Wait? They can both sing?
I zoned my hearing to listen to Harry's voice, being as if I've heard Ariel's before. His was low, deep, and raspy. He had control of his vocals, not straining his voice to make the sound he desired to make. He managed to keep his voice low, even in the high notes, which I know can't be easily handled. He never mentioned he had singing capabilities, but I'm glad I discovered them.
I cleared my throat, gaining their attention. Both their heads shot to the direction of my voice, startled that someone was in the apartment uninvited. Once they recognized it was me, they immediately relaxed.
"I'm sorry for just waltzing my way in. I came to return your phone Ariel, it must have slipped from your pocket while you were at my office." I said handing her the phone.
"I didn't even noticed it was missing. Thank you for returning it." She said with a grateful smile. I nodded my head, but flipped the subject else where.
"I didn't expect you to start writing so early after I gave you an assignment." I said with surprise clearly in my voice.
"My intentions were to start tomorrow, but someone had other ideas." She replied, nudging Harry cheekily with her elbow.
"You two make an amazing pair. Relationship and duet wise."
"Thank you." Harry said politely. Since he spoke up, I decided this was my chance.
"Harry, you never mentioned you could sing." I stated.
He shrugged, "I never really thought of myself as talented sir." He responded.
"You need to begin to, because I want to offer you a contract as well. You and Ariel could be a pair, singers with musical talents as well." I said calmly but with a seriousness in my tone. His mouth fell agape. I laughed lightly at his reaction and patiently waited for a reply.
"You would really do that?" He asked, clearly still shocked with my forwardness.
"Absolutely! I know talent when I see it, and I don't want to pass it up."
He rose from the stool to cover over and engulf me in a man hug. "Thank you so much!" He exclaimed.
"My pleasure, now I need to get home to my wife, so I expect to see you BOTH on Monday."
"Of course." They said with a smile.
Harry's POV
What just happened? I turned around and looked at Ariel with wide eyes, her expression matching mine. She got up from the piano stool and engulfed me in her small arms, wrapping them around my neck. Instantly found mine encasing her in my embrace.
She loosened her grip to look me in the eyes. She searched them for any kind if emotion, but all she found was shock. She kissed my nose gently snapping me out of my thoughts.
"What's the matter?" She asked, concern filling her voice.
"Nothing angel." I responded. I have the girl of my dreams, an apartment, and a job to provide for her. Seems perfect right? I thought I would have to get a job as a waiter or bus boy. But after today, I saw my life turn for the better. Ariel has changed me. Well not, changed me from who I am as a person, but has made me a better person.
And now, Stephen Mitchell has opened up many amazing opportunities and a worry free environment.
Or so I thought......
