Chapter Twenty One
Ariel's POV
Once I helped Harry up off the floor, we walked straight home, with no words spoken between the two of us. I couldn't bring myself to be angry with him, but yet, disappointed. He should've told me who she was in the beginning, but there's nothing we can do about that now.
I place my key into the slot and opened the door, hearing Harry close it once we were both in our apartment. I went through the living room and opened the french doors to the balcony, stepping out. I heard Harry's footsteps in the background. He wasn't close to me from what I can tell, probably nervous about my silence and what my reaction might be.
I stayed propped up against the balcony, still facing away from him when I decided it was time someone say something. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked him, with not a hint of emotion in my voice.
I heard his feet shuffle, but he still wasn't near me. "I didn't want you to leave me." He spoke after a pause.
I turned around and just looked at him for a second, shocked at his words. He was looking straight into my eyes, with a look of guilt and fear.
"Why would you think that?" I asked, while walking over to him slowly. His eyes stayed glued to mine.
"Because she's the reason you left a year ago, and I didnt..." Before he could finish his sentence, I stopped him.
"No. You were the reason I left. You made the decision to do what you did, not her." I spoke, annoyance in my voice. His head dropped. Clearly he knew my words were true.
"But that was then," I spoke up, causing him to raise his head, "It's our past, and it made us into who we are together now." I told him, running my fingers through his hair, while his hands immediately found my waist.
"We can't dwell on what's happened. We can only live for now, in this moment, together. And I'm not going to let some girl take the guy I've fallen truly," I spoke inching my lips closure to his, "Madly," I brought him closure to me, no space between us now, "Deeply," Our lips brushed with my words, "In love with."
Before I could say anything else, he leaned in and pressed his lips to my own forcefully, but gently. I just realized, that there's not one thing I wouldn't do for him, or to anyone to keep him mine.
I pulled away, out if breath. We stood there for a few moments, not saying anything, taking in what just happened.
Harry's POV
I stood there, with Ariel in my arms, thinking how lucky I am to have this girl. I was positive this would be it for us, that we would be back on non-speaking terms. But she always seems to surprise me. I don't deserve her, and I know it. I've done things that shouldn't have even crossed my mind, but she's forgiven me. She's allowed me to come back into her life, which made my life complete.
She pulled away from my embrace, walking to her piano. I watched every move she made, not wanting to miss something. She began playing a melody, slow and soft almost relaxing in a way, that I haven't recognized. Her voice sang in a tune that made her seem unreal.
"You're gonna take my hand
Whisper the sweetest words,
And if you're ever sad
I'll make you laugh
I'll chase the hurt.
My heart is set on you,
I don't want no one else,
And if you don't want me
I guess I'll be all by myself."
