Chapter Nineteen
Lillie's POV
I watched Harry walk away and out of my sight from the recptionist desk. I was never a girl to be clingy to a guy, but he was just a mystery. You never know what he's thinking behind that crooked little smirk, or that sparkle in his eyes, and that's what I love, an adventure. I don't intend on letting another person have what's mine. I'm not just claiming what's mine from just Ariel, but from others that experienced the pleasure I did from Harry. I know that Harry won't tell her who I am, figuring she'll retaliate and leave him.
So I won't tell her.
Yet.
Ariel's POV
Two days later...
Harry and I have been doing really great lately. Our song is coming along quite nice, and I can't wait to hear it. Someone playing and singing your song you wrote, put time and effort into, is just overwhelming, but in a good way.
Harry's made my dream become reality, and by doing so, his is true as well. I never knew he could sing until that day in the warehouse, but by the twinkle in his eye, it was obvious he loved it. And I'm glad we get to experience our dream together.
After we came home from work, Harry went to take a shower. I made myself a pitcher of tea, since obviously british people don't know how to drink it. I boiled the water, and placed three tea bags in the pot. Just before it boiled over, I poured it in the pitcher and added sugar. I grabbed a glass from the cabinet, added ice, and filled it with tea. The sweet taste brought memories back from home.
I walked over to my purse to retrieve my phone, but it wasn't in there. The only other place it could be was the office. I jogged down the hall towards the bathroom door in my bedroom.
"Harry?" I yelled.
"Yes love?" He asked, the shower muffling his voice and probably mine.
"I left my phone at the office, I'll be right back." I replied. "Okay baby. Hurry back, and be careful."
After his last word I went back downstairs, slipped my shoes on, grabbed my purse and was out the door.
I reached the building doors fairly quickly. I was greeted by Lillie.
"Hey Ariel. What brings you back here?" she asks sweetly.
"I left my phone in the office, didn't notice till I got home." I replied.
I opened the door to our office and found my phone on top of the grand black piano. I know it's crazy that I just left work, but I want to just play while I'm alone. But I don't want to keep Harry waiting. I sighed and headed back out the door.
As I was walking throught the lobby, someone spoke.
"Ariel, would you like to go out for coffee tomorrow morning, have a girls day? I could seriously need one." She asked with a polite tone and a smile.
"Sure! So could I actually." I replied.
Come to think of it, this is the first time I've gone out and done something with someone other than myself or Harry. It'll be nice to get out of the office or the house.
"Great! Meet you at Starbucks, say..ten tomorrow morning?" She asked.
"Sounds great. See you then."
Harry's POV
I couldn't help but worry if Lillie was still at the office. I just didn't want Ariel getting involved. I can handle Lillie, and I intend to do so without Ariel knowing who she is.
I heard the front door open and close, with the sound of keys hitting a hard surface. "Harry?" She called out. I slung a pair of sweatpants over my lower half, leaving my torso bare. I went into the living her and saw her taking off her shoes. I wrapped my arms around her waist spinning her to face me. I kissed her lips gently.
"Hey." I spoke softly after pulling away. "Did you find your phone?" I asked her, with slight hesitation in my voice.
"Yep! It was on the piano, of all places." She replied with a smile, giggles escaped her lips. I laughed along with her, walking towards the kitchen. As I opened the fridge she spoke.
"Hey babe, Lillie and I are going to have a girls day tomorrow. You'll be okay right? I mean I can cancel, say I forgot about plans we already made?" She asked. I could tell she wanted to go. Since Ariel's been in New York she hasn't really had a friend, but I wish it wasn't Lillie. I shouldn't of let her go to the office on her own. I can't make her cancel her plans, she'll know something's up. I told her to stay away from Lillie, but then again, Ariel can be like talking to a brick wall at times.
"No, go ahead. I'll be fine." I replied, forcing a little smile on my face. She nodded while smiling wrapping her arms around my waist from behind. My tense muscles instantly relaxed under her faint touch, but it didn't help the thoughts swarming in my mind on what she'll say or do tomorrow.
I turned around in her touch, forcing my lips on hers in an ergant kiss. The way her lips felt on my own, the way hers moved perfectly with mine, was all I ever needed. I could be having the worst day possible, but having one kiss from her, can immediately change my perspective.
She pulled away first. I frowned at the loss of contact, but smiled when she spoke. "If you keep doing that, I might have to cancel tomorrow." She said mysteriously.
"I'll take you up on that offer." I spoke with a smirk on my face, tugging at a belt loop on her jeans, pulling her to me. Her eyes lit up, but I have no idea why. She just looked at me, her arms draped over my neck, caressing my brown curls. There was silence as she looked at me with a smile.
"What're you thinking about?" I asked her, circling my thumbs on her hips.
She didn't answer my question right way. I raised my eyebrows, wanting to know what's on her mind. "I can't bring myself but to answer that question with the same answer everytime. I can't say I'm thinking about our song, and how successful we might be. I can't say I'm thinking about how I want to play piano until the sun rises in the morning, just because I love it that much. But I can say, that whatever I'm doing, and whenever I'm with you, my heart flutters," She says placing my hand on her chest, feeling the constant beating which sped up under my touch, "I get lost into your eyes, " She adds while placing a light feather kiss on the corner of my right eye, "and I can't help but smile, " she said before kissing my lips.
I look down at her. This girl has literally stolen my heart, made me who I am, and who I want to be. She's absolutely breath taking. Her full light pink lips. Those bright crystal blue eyes that I can see my reflection in. Her adorable little button nose. Her dirty blonde hair that frames her face, but cascades down her back, soft and fine. She has a personality that's different from others. She can be playful, which makes my mind go crazy. She can be so wise and passionate that makes you look at the aspect of life. And she's loving, and shows it, just like she did now.
I found this moment to be special, real. I wanted to keep going with this feeling, so I did what came to mind first. I pulled her hands from around my neck, took a step back from her. Her longing expression fell as I did this, but I knew it would come back with my next statement.
"Dance with me."
She smiled at me, taking my hand that I left out for her to take. I wrapped my around her tiny wait, lightly running my fingers up and down half her back. She stroked my hair, causing me to close my eyes, savoring this moment.
I know I'm not perfect, I'm far from it. And I know that. I've done hurtful things to Ariel that I'm suprised she forgave me for. And I know she's not perfect. Her clumsiness and her little tomboy side make her who she is. But let me tell you, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Because we're perfectly imperfect.
