Chapter Fourteen
Ariel's POV
My heart fluttered at that one word. I knew by that moment, he had come back for me, and wasn't leaving my side again. I wanted him, and no one else.
He looked deeply into my eyes for a few more seconds, before leaning his lips down to connect them with my own. And when they met, I knew then and there, this was the only guy for me. His lips moving in perfect sync with mine. His tongue slid across my bottom lip asking for entrance to go further. I accepted his gesture, and deepened the kiss I longed for. Everything about this was perfect. Unlike everything about "us" together, was no where near perfect, but that's what keeps it interesting and wanting more.
He moved one hand down to my lower back, which caused me to take a step forward, closing the gap that was no longer between us. The heat radiating off his body made me feel calm, and safe. I blindly took one of his hands, not breaking the kiss, and led us over to my bed. I gently pushed his chest backwards causing him to lay down on his back never once his lips leaving mine. I layed down on top of his body, continuing our heated embrace. I slid my hands down to the hem of his shirt, asking for permission for it ot be removed. He took the hint, gladly, tossing the white fabric to the ground. I met his lips once more as he rolled over now hovering over me now. I draped my hands around the bottom of his hair line, gently running my fingers through his soft brown curls. He moaned into my mouth, which caused me to smile into the kiss, knowing I had an affect on him. He noticed this, and didn't like the idea of me being in control. He moved his lips away from mine, only to come in contact with the curve just below my ear. I let out a small breath as he continued. Once I felt him come in contact with a cool chain wrapped around my neck, I opened my eyes to see that he stopped his actions.
He took the chain between his fingers, examining it until the pendant came into view from under the collar of my shirt. His lips parted once he saw the music note pendant on the chain, holding it between his thumb and index finger. On the front, an A was engraved in a script much like the one on my stool, and on the back was a little dash and a H. I never once took my eyes off of him, just like I didn't take this necklace off for any reason.
"You still have it. " He said almost a whisper. "Ever since you closed the clasp around my neck, I haven't taken it off. " I stated looking into his eyes. And that was more than a year ago. The emerald green that seemed to be dull once I first saw him tonight, became bright with my words. His pupils dilated as he stared down at me. He leaned down to kiss me, telling me he was surprised I still had it.
We don't commiuncate with words. We don't tell eachother what's running through the other's mind, or state our feelings, and if we do, it's a rare occasion. We tell each other things by our actions, that's how we can read one another like an open book. A smile may break across my lips, but Harry knows if it's geniune or not by the look of my eyes. Same goes for him.
Our kisses are sometimes transferred to tell one another how grateful we are to have each other. Just like he is now. The way his lips are moving perfectly with mine right now, makes me believe he came back for the better of this relationship.
Harry's POV
I settled my weight a little more on her petite body, desperate for more contact. I wanted to show her how much I love her, and wanted to tell her I was never leaving again. I grabbed the end of her sweater with my finger tips, looking at her the whole time. She smiled nodding, but her eyes read something different. I rose myself off of her to lay down on the other side of the bed.
"What's wrong?" Her voice rang through my ears. "You don't have to do this for me. " I said looking at her with my eyebrows burrowed. I wanted to have every bit of her I can get, but not when I know she's only giving herself to please me.
"I want to. " She said simply, looking down, picking at her fingers. "I do, really Harry."
"You may want to, but that doesn't change the fact that you're not ready. I told you I would wait for you, and I meant it. So don't tell me that, knowing you'll feel like shit after. "
She looked up at me with those blue eyes, instantly making me feel bad for not giving into her plea, but at the same time I didn't. I knew where she came from, her beliefs, an I respect them, even if I didn't show my respect for her a year ago.
"One day, we'll both be ready. And I say we, because I'll know that it will be special, and not a spure of the moment.. " I said with kindness in my voice.
She didn't say anything, but I could see a suddle smile on her lips. "I love you." She said while tracing my tattoos. Goosebumps rose on my chest which caused her to giggle.
"Are you okay?" I asked weakly. She tensed under my embrace. She knew what I was asking.
"No." She said. "What happened?" I asked while running my fingers through her hair. "It was pouring rain when I was leaving work, and Bryson offered me a ride home. I told him I would walk, but he talked me into it. Once we got in the elevator, he grabbed me, and I just couldn't handle it and ran out of the elevator." I tensed as I thought about her words. Only my hands are allowed to touch her, period. "And he followed me into my apartment, and forced himself on me." A tear slipped from her eye, which caused my heart to clench. "But then you came," she said with a smile while looking into my eyes, reassuring me it was't my fault, "You're my savior, Harry. And I'm your broken mess. "
"I will always be here to pick up the pieces. "
We stayed silent for a while, just savoring each other's presence. My mind spoke before I thought what I was saying, "Are you still going to work at the restaurant?" Worry spread across her face as I spoke my last sentence. "Oh no, what am I going to do? I can't work there anymore, and I need money to pay the bills..maybe I cou..." Before she could finish her sentence I placed my finger to her lips, wanting her to listen to me.
"I'll help. That is...if you'll allow me too."
She crawled her way up my chest to have our lips just centimeters apart, she knew what she was doing, teasing me like this. "Harry..." She whispered. "Hmm?" I responded closing my eyes, about to lean in..
"Will you move back in with me?" She asked, but already knew the answer.
"I will on one condition..." I stated catching her off guard and not giving her the response she thought I would give her.
"And what's that?"
"Kiss me.."
Without hesitation, she crashed her lips to mine.
I couldn't believe I was here, and that she let me stay, asked me to stay actually. And I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm going to protect her from anything and everything, provide for her, and make sure she knows she's wanted.
She pulled away, smiling down at me. She nuzzled her head in the crook of my neck as I wrapped an arm around her waste while holding her hand in the other.
I got to thinking about how hurt she must feel inside, not because of the terrible situation that just occured, but not being able to do her dream job everyday.
And an idea came to mind. Tom knows some people out here, seeing that his father is a huge recording producer.
Maybe her dream could progress from her everyday job, to a blossoming career..
