Chapter Five
Ariel's POV
I'm walking towards Starbucks, with a bit of hesitation and desire. I'm petrified I'll fall under his spell once more, but at the same time, I've missed it. I've missed not being able to see him when I want, kiss him when I want. I miss him calling me those little pet names that made my heart flutter. He's hypnotizing in every way, with one look, I fell weak at the knees. That day we met, I couldn't speak, it seemed un-real to me. How a gorgeous guy like himself would talk to an average girl like me. And I loved every minute of being with him.
Unitl the day that changed everything..
I grabbed the handle to the door of Starbucks, and the sweet aroma of coffee filled my senses. I didn't see Harry so I went and order a Vanilla Iced Latte and took a seat be the window. It started to rain a bit when I sat down. I've always loved the rain. The sound of rain is so calming. I began to daydream while drinking my latte. A crack of thunder brought me back to reality. I pulled my phone from my back pocket and noticed I had a text.
From: Bryson
Where are you?
I totally face palmed, because I forgot to tell him I would be late for work. I quickly sent a reply, trying to cover up who I was truthfully seeing today.
To: Bryson
I'm so sorry! I forgot to tell you I'd be late today! My sister is in town, and she wanted to catch up at Starbucks! I should be there by 5.
From: Bryson
Okay, well next time let me know. See ya soon.
I didn't want to reply so I checked the time.
2:30. Woah I've been here this long! Stupid rain, making me daydream. Harry still isn't here. Was he lying? Was he going to show? Is he caught in traffic? Did he forget? I decided to wait till three to see if he'd show. I leaned my head against the window and watched the rain come down.
--------------------------
I woke up by a guy gently shaking. I opened my eyes an dsaw someone I wish I didn't.
"I'm sorry I'm late.." He said.
I didn't say a word, I simply got up from where I was sitting, and walked out the door.
Harry's POV
I can't belive I stood her up. I didn't mean to, but the boys made me stay at the hotel with them, considering the weather. When Ariel walked out the door, I couldn't help but go after her. I had to talk to her, explain myself.
"ARIEL!" I shouted over the continuous splatter of rain on the streets of New York.
"What?" She said as she turned around. It had so much meaning behind that one word. It had confusion, aggravation, and anger all behind it. She threw her hands up only for them to fall back down to her sides. She was soaked, as was I, but I didn't care. The look in her eyes broke me, seeing as I caused her this pain and the trouble she's dealing with.
"Let me explain." I pleaded without taking a step closer, thinking she would bolt if I did.
"You have nothing to explain. Obviously this was just to see if you still had me hooked by coming here after reading the note. To see if I'd fall weak into your arms while you telling me you're sorry for everything you did, telling me everything will be okay and that you won't leave again. But's that not going to happen, not again. You may want to stay, make everything the way we wanted to be a year ago, but I'm not staying this time, I'm gone." She said in one breath, and with that she turned around after one last look at me, and started to run.
