Wedding Day

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Old: My mothers necklace, from when she was married to my father. It was made of real diamonds, and was simple, but perfect.

New: My brand new, beautiful dress. It was strapless. The skirt flowed, but didn't poof out too much. The top had little sequins running up, and it fit me perfectly.

Borrowed: Starfire had let me borrow her white heels, that she had worn on her wedding day. They went with the dress so perfectly, that before I could even say 'no', she and Raven both were threatening that if I didn't wear them, they would make sure that I go missing from the face of the planet. They obviously won that argument.

Blue: Robin had went out and bought a blue sapphire tiara, that was now holding my veil in place. It was small, and was really only considered a hair comb, but it was beautiful. I had cried when he showed it to me, and we had spent the rest of the night reliving childhood memories.

"Open your eyes," Raven commanded, and I slowly opened my eyes to face the mirror in front of me.

I gasped at the creature in the mirror, refusing to believe it was me. "Raven, Star, this is all waterproof, right?" I asked, my eyes misty already.

"Oh, no," Starfire said, kneeling in front of me. "Can't you at least wait until you're at the alter?"

I shook my head as the tears spilled over.

"You already made her cry?" a new voice said, as the door opened. "You were supposed to wait for me!"

The three of us turned to see a familiar face. Her eyes were shining blue, and her natural brown hair was once again dyed kool-aid red. She was already dressed in her bridesmaid dress, and her hair was in banana curls, framing her small, petite face. The dress was purple, and went along with Starfire and Raven's dresses, the same shade and design, except Katherine's was strapless with a flower on the side, Starfire's had one shoulder, with a flower holding it in place, and Raven's was a halter neck, with a flower in the middle.

Seeing them together, and matching just made me tear up more. The girls quickly grabbed tissues and dabbed at my eyes, careful not to mess up the master piece that Raven had created. Ever since she and Aqualad had started dating - yes, it was official now - she was much happier. And who knew she was a genius at make up?

"Kaelyn, the wedding doesn't officially start for another fifteen minutes, why are you crying already?" Starfire chuckled. "Even I didn't cry this much on my wedding day."

It was true. On the day that she and my brother wed, she didn't shed a tear until they both said 'I do.' I don't know how she did it, but I wish she would share her secret.

"I checked on the boys before I came here," Katherine said, smiling. "They wouldn't let me through the door, so I couldn't see Beastboy."

I giggled at the name, as I hadn't called him Beastboy since he told me his real name. Garfield.

I remember on the day he told me, he had seemed so shy and nervous. He told me how the others had already knew, but they chose to never call him by his real name, or they had forgotten, since they were told long ago.

"Kaelyn," Raven said, snapping her fingers.

I blinked, and looked up at her, coming out of my thoughts. "Yes?" I asked.

"It's almost time," she said. "Robin's waiting for you."

Because my father was dead - not that I wanted him to walk me down the aisle anyway - Robin was going to. When the girls let him in, Starfire's smile grew at the sight of him in his tux, and green vest underneath.

"Kaelyn, you look beautiful," he told me, offering his hand.

I accepted, and sighed. "Robin, couldn't you at least go a few hours without the mask?" I begged. "It's my wedding day!"

"I knew you were going to say that," he muttered, but made no move to remove it.

My brother lead me to the closed double doors, and Starfire, Raven and Katherine lined up in front of us. The flower girl and ring bearer were little cousins of mine and Robin's, whom we had found in our search for lost relatives we had conducted a couple years ago. It was a shock to us all, but the little children had immediately fit into our crazy group. They were twins, and were about four years old. They both had beautiful black hair, matching mine and my brother's. Their names were Emily and Carter.

The music started, and the twins set out in a slow march, making their way down the aisle.

"Robin," I whispered in a panic.

"What's wrong?" he whispered back.

"H-how nervous were you?" I asked. "When you married Starfire?"

"Probably more nervous than you," he admitted. "But I love her, and I refused to let my nerves stand in my way."

Our cue sounded, and I took deep breath, nodding. "I'm ready."

The big double doors opened again, and I could finally see the big church in all its glory. The benches had purple ribbon decorating them, and the floor was littered with green petals from Emily. Everything was beautiful, but my eyes only focused on Garfield. He was wearing a black and white tux, and he stood up a little straighter when our eyes met. He smiled, and I smiled back, wanting to sprint the rest of the way down the aisle instead of being forced to move at this slow pace.

The people in the benches were the Titans from all over the world, and all of the ninjas from the agency. My family.

Finally, after what felt like years, we made it to Garfield.

"I love you sis," Robin said, lifting my veil enough to kiss my forehead, then stood in his rightful place as best man.

The vows seemed to take forever, and I couldn't take my eyes off of Garfield. After a millennia, I heard the priest say the six words, and our lips crashed, both of us smiling like idiots.

"I now pronounce you, husband and wife!" the priest said, and everyone cheered.

At least, I think they did. All my senses were dull, as I stared into my new husband's eyes.

"I love you," he whispered in my ear, my small hands in his. He didn't give me the chance to reply before he crushed his lips to mine again.
