~BEASTBOYS POV~

“What do you mean, you’re not letting us out of you sight?” Robin asked ten minutes later.

We were walking down a long hallway, Venus leading the way.

“I mean, that you five will remain here under my surveillance. You will live here until the whole Commander thing is resolved. We already have rooms made up for you guys,” she said.

“What about our city?” Robin asked. “We cant just abandon Jump City.”

“Of course we won’t. I’ll send in two teams. One to look after the city, and to bring anything back you want, or need. So make a list when you get settled. You know what? I’ll let you choose the team that goes. Ah, here we are,” she said, standing in front a door. She opened it up wide, letting us in first.

It was huge, there was a big TV in the corner, and a pretty good sized kitchen off to the side.

“The rooms to the left are girls, right, boys. Star, the kitchens for you. Cyborg, there’s a computer over there if you want it... oh, Robin, on the second floor is the training room if you ever want to come down. Raven, there’s a meditating room also. Here is an intercom so you can call down to the kitchen anytime, Beastboy we have plenty of tofu, your not the only vegetarian here. It’s the green button. Red button is Cat, blue, Flame, white me. But my rooms next door if you need me. I know the place is big, so if you get lost, it’ll be fine, just asked some random person for directions...,” she trailed off, staring to space like she was forgetting something. “Oh! If you guys don’t mind, can you come down to the training room in about an hour? We some new recruits, and I want you guys to show them some moves.”

Finally, she stopped talking.

“Uh... why?” Robin asked.

“Please? I want them to see battle by real heroes. We move in the shadows here. Villains don’t know about us until we attack. That means we don’t know them until we attack. They don’t always know what to expect,” Venus plead. Then she turned to us. “Besides, you guys have powers.”

Robin stared at her for a minute. Finally he sighed. “I guess it wouldn’t hurt.”

“Yay! They’ll be so excited! Ok, so papers on the desk, make a list of everything you guys want from your tower, and I’ll send someone after them,” she said. “And when we go to the training room, I’ll ;et you choose what team you want to protect Jump City.” then she walked out the door, stopping to tell us she’d ‘pick us up later’.

Robin sighed. “I don’t know about you guys, but I have a funny feeling about this place.”

Raven nodded. “They can sense telepathy? How weird is that?” she asked talking to herself.

“I think they are kind people,” Star said. “And they knew our friend Kaelyn... they were her friends.”

I nodded. Sure they said that they were her friends, but can we trust them? They killed her, Flame admitted it! We took turns writing things down that we wanted from home.

“I just don’t get why they won’t let us go home...,” Robin said half an hour later. “And she said ‘we’ earlier. ‘Of course we won’t abandon Jump City.’ What was that suppose to mean?”

I shrugged, sitting on the couch. I didn’t get anything that was going on. And I still didn’t know what I said when they gave me that stupid lollipop. Whatever I said, Robin is seriously mad about it though. I’d have to ask Cyborg later I guess...

About twenty minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Robin answered it, and Venus was standing in the hall. “All right you guys, lets go. Coach is expecting us any minute now. Did you guys make a list?” she asked.

I nodded and gave her the piece of paper. She glanced over it and nodded. “You sure this is it?” she asked.

“Yes, I am sure,” Starfire nodded.

“Kay... good. Lets go before Coach gets mad. She has a pretty bad temper,” she said, and starting walking down the hall.

We passed a group of three ninjas who looked at us and giggled. “Venus, is this-“ one of the girls asked, but Venus waved her away.

“Shouldn’t you be training with Chica?” she asked, and the girls quickly fled. “If any one gives you trouble, come to me. I’ll take care of it,” she said.

Robin looked at her, shocked. “Really, I don’t think it’ll be a problem,” he said, but Venus shook her head.

“No. The girls are helpless. They’ll do anything to get your attention, and the guys will do any thing to show off. You gotta watch your back, trust me,” she said. “And I suggest you have someone with you at all times. We like to think our security will be impossible to get through, but no ones is. I mean, look at yours. Our newest members can crack your code.”

We froze. “Wait... you break into our security?” Cyborg asked.

Venus nodded. “Oh, sure. We crack into everyones. CIA, Secret Service, FBI... you name it. Except for The Commander. He’s got an expert on his side, I know it... I just don’t know who.”

“Have you been spying on us or something?” Robin asked.

Venus looked at us guiltily. “Well... Kaelyn was serious about protecting you from her dad. She told to send people in, hack into your security cameras, everything,” she said, walking again.

She stopped at the elevator, motioning us in. “Besides, we didn’t get anything interesting. Except Beastboy trying to talk you into coming here..,” she said glaring at me.

I shrugged. “I still think we should’ve went after The Commander a long time ago,” I muttered.

Venus studied me. “I know,” she said.

Then the elevator doors opened, and I saw Robins eyes widen.
