~BEASTBOYS POV~

I studied the house as we went through.

It was a big house, and considering that Robin hadn’t been here in who knows how long, he seemed to know where everything was.

Kaelyn was leading everyone the way. She led us out back, where there was a little building.

“Venus...,” Flame started. They had agreed to using the code names again, with Kaelyn wearing her ninja outfit again.

“What?” she asked, turning to face him.

“Shouldn’t we leave some people inside, to look around the house? Like upstairs, and the basement?” he asked.

Kaelyn... I mean Venus... hesitated. “There would be no room upstairs. And I’m not sure about the basement... he never let anyone down there, so I can almost grantee he wouldn’t be down there,” she said.

Flame nodded, unsure.

Venus reached the door, and tried the knob to no avail.

She kicked the door a few times, but it wouldn’t budge.

She grumbled a few curses while kicking the door again. Finally, she cried out in frustration. “This is useless!” she yelled.

“Venus...,” Robin trailed off, grabbing her hand. “Come on, calm down.”

“Here V, try this,” Flame handed her something that looked like... lip gloss?

Venus looked at it, confused. “Where did you get this?” she asked.

Flame smirked. “I went through Cat’s room before leaving,” he said.

She smiled back at him. “Thanks, but I have my own,” she said and pulled out what looked like a similar tube.

Cyborg and I glanced at each other, confused.

The other ninjas looked at Venus with worry and respect.

She uncapped the lid, and sure enough it was light pink lip gloss.

She drew a circle around the door knob, and immediately it started to sizzle. My eyes widened in understanding along with Cyborg, Robin, Raven and Star.

When the knob fell off, the door swung open with a creek.

Venus stared into the room, frozen.

She seemed to be at war with herself, tore between going down there, or turning around to go back to the house.

I gently put my hand on her shoulder, and she jumped.

“It’s ok,” I whispered in her ear.

She looked at me and nodded.

Then she turned around, and slowly began to climb down the steps.
