Scarlett looked around, seemingly lost for words, "In all honesty, I didn't expect you guys to come..." She took a moment, then stood up, a look of confidence burning in her brown eyes. "I guess we should start from the beginning..."
*****
Scarlett's POV: WHERE THE HECK SHOULD I START?! I know I said from the beginning... But which beginning?! Ugh...I'm so bad at this...I stood there for a while then bowed my head, "This is kinda hard to explain..." I felt my hand move to the back of my and start rubbing. I've never been good at speaking in front of others...

Arwen's POV: Oh no... She's in trouble, isn't she? I sighed. Scarlett had taken over explaining things long ago, and because of her age, I had allowed her to take my spot as unofficial leader. She was fine when it came to fighting and protecting Gilbert, Kiku, and the others, but when it came down to talking in front of crowd... Well that's a different story. Might as well help her get started.
I pushed myself off the couch and stood beside her, all eyes switching over to me. "What do you want to know first? We can start from there." The countries looked to each other, trying to decide who would speak first. I heard snickers and giggles from behind me, and I felt them start to build in my chest as well. I let a short chuckle pass my lips.
"VHAT IS SO FUCKING FUNNY?!" Not one of us flinched at Ludwig's outburst. In fact we all just fell apart, laughter making my breathing rather difficult. It took a few seconds before I was able to speak again.
"It's just... that we'd never think of seeing you guys so serious or quiet before."
Wang Yao spoke up from his seat in one of the far corners, "How do you know how we should act, aru?" I let a small smile grace my lips.
"We know a lot about you guys... So much it's hard to explain." Somehow I think that sentence is gonna come up a lot from now on...
"Well try then," Arthur said in an exasperated tone. "That's what you said you were going to do if we went with you, wasn't it?"
I saw Scarlett nod out of the corner of my eye. "Yeah, and we're going to get to that right away. It's just hard to know where to start..."
Francis raised his hand, "Can you start from the part where you were born? I don't remember any new countries..."
"Sure, if that's what you want," Scarlett sounded more sure of herself now, so I sat back down again, preparing myself for the rather long discussion we were about to go through.

Scarlett's POV: "Okay, so before we start, can I ask that you hold all comments till the end? This will take forever if we don't do it that way." I waited until every country had nodded his or her head. "Alright then, so..."
(This part of the story will be the history of Scarlett and the other girls, and how they came to become countries. It is told from Scarlett's, Arwen's, Luna's, Kyoko's, and Aridan's POV)
Around the years of 2000 and 2001, five little islands were created in the Pacific Ocean. Each island has about 600,000 acres of land a piece, and they are located just a few miles apart from one another in a giant star shape. They were not discovered by any specific government or country because of one thing. The League of Patrolling Countries, or TLPC, found these islands first.
From what we know, countries are not born like humans, correct? Well in this case, that wasn't true. While these landmasses were formed we, their personifications, were born as humans. Before you say anything, no we don't know why this is, but that is what occurred all those years ago.
When Scarlett turned fifteen years old, we had all known each other for about a year. What we didn't know at the time was that our fates were practically being controlled by the TLPC. We had been pushed together by unknown forces that the League implied. Having multiple things in common, we naturally got along extreamly well. We had no idea that we were personifications, nor did we know that personifications actually existed.
Getting back to the point, close to the end of our Freshman year, we were in high school at this time, Scarlett's father made her get a job. He was a police officer and had ties that got her an apprentice ship under one of his lawyer friends. When she started working there, I'm not really sure what happened, but somehow she attracted the attention of the TLPC. One day while sorting files, she was asked to talk to some men about a internship. At this interview, they asked her multiple personality questions and they eventually let her return to work. A few days later she got a letter in the mail that accepted her into an internship at a military base a few miles from our home.
She went to school the next day and told us about the new internship and we, determined to stay together, sent in our own letters, asking to also be accepted. The League agreed. It wasn't until later, when we went for the first time to the military base, that we discovered what they actually wanted with us. These people knew about you countries. They wanted your abilities to regenerate and live for centuries. They explained to us that we were the personifications of these five islands and offered us the chance to bring out our natural abilities being the nations that we were. Like Kyoko's magic, for example.
We knew that if we agreed we would probably be in for hell, but we agreed anyway. We spent the next five years in solitary confinement, where we were put through The Testing. The Testing was a series of "treatments" that we were told would help our abilities as nations come forward. We weren't allowed to see the outside, nor each other, until after the first phase of The Testing was complete. We finished it after a year, but we still weren't able to leave the building until after the entire Testing was completed. This took us over seventeen years. We were about thirty two at that time. Halfway through The Testing we had stopped aging, probably around our eighteenth year.
Finally, when we completed The Testing, The Process began. It was pretty much the same thing as The Testing, but focused more on us building our nations from the ground up. We spent over two-hundred years creating our separate cultures. It wasn't until 2215 that our countries began to form, the TLPC taking babies and raising them on our island's soil. Everything after that was just our civilizations trying to survive.
After years of needless killing and creating different forms of civilizations on our island's, in the year 4546, each of us were elected a boss, a President, to control the republic governments we had spent nearly 2,000 years creating. The one who wrote that letter you read earlier Ludwig, the one signed by President Margaret Howard Livingston, she was Scarlett's first boss. Her country's name is Akanena. In her language that translates into "Rose of Red," which is where Scarlett, her human name comes from.
Arwen's country name is Arkayia.
Kyoko's is Fluernia
Luna's is Lalinia
And Aridan's is Otsana
After our first President's were installed into our new governments we escaped TLPC. Mostly because their whole reason for helping create us was to capture you guys. We didn't want any of you to get hurt, so we vowed to find you and protect you from the League. That was our "Race Worth Running." That was what made us have hope. Our desire to protect all of you.
After we escaped TLPC we lived on the run, while still helping our nation's people grow and prevail. At the same time, we sought information on your locations and studied different fighting techniques. We used Kyoko's magic to teleport in and out of TLPC's government buildings and we used Arwen's and my own tech skills to hack away at their databases. That's how we came to find you. That's how we prevailed. That's how we became unknown nations. That's our story.
