Picture of Matthew up top

"Are you sure your getting this?" I turn to look at to my right at Matt who seem on the breaking point of frustration as I try to tutor him in physics.
We're sitting in physics class and the hour has just started. Matt is in my class but let's just say he's not the top student. So in desperate need of help he asked for help from the classes top student. Me.
Physics is definitely not his strong suit.
"Can't you tell?" He asks sarcastically as his face sits grimly.
"Yeah, totally. I think you aced the finale." I say laughing and putting my pen to the side.
He lets a frustrated sigh and leans back in his chair.
                              "Can we take a break?"
Looking at the clock I roll my eyes at the time that's passed by.
"It's only been twenty minutes." I deadpan. He gives me a pleading and I sigh before closing the book and turning to Matt. "Only five minutes."
"That's enough for me." He says stretching out a little. "So tell me what's been going on with Evie Sharp?"
A smirk lifts my lips and I tilt my head looking at Matt as he rests his head in his hands.
"Is that why you want a break? To get information out of me?" I tease letting out a chuckle.
"Maybe I just want to know what's been going on with my estranged friend."
                              Friend.
It has been a while since we've been able to have an actual conversation and we can thank Amber for that.
The thing is the only thing that anyone wants to talk about right now involves Alex and that's the one person I don't want to talk about.
"Oh I think you know what's going on with me. It's all in the papers."
He frowns and leans back in his chair. "I don't want to talk about Alexander. I could care less."
                              "Couldn't."
                              His brows scrunch. "What?"
"You couldn't care less." I correct him.
We sit looking at each other in silence and all of the sudden he bursts into laughter. Now I'm confused.
"Did you really correct right now?" He breathes out in the midst of his laughter.
"I couldn't help it. Your grammar was wrong."
"Fuck. I forgot how literate and funny you were." He rests his hand on his chest trying to calm down.
"Maybe cause you were busy." I blurt out and Matt looks taken back so I decide to avert my attention something else.
                              Ooh look a marker!
"I know." I hear a solemn voice admits.
Looking over at Matt I instantly feel bad. I was looking at his hands with his head down.
