He was right by the time I awoke around early noon Alex was back. He was sitting by the usual open window smoking a cigarette. He looked like he was freshly showered and dressed with his brown curls still damp looking. He looked as though he was in deep thought and who was I to interrupt. I wanted to though so I could thank him. I just didn't understand why he did it. I mean I know I asked him and I'm grateful that he did I just don't know why.

We're currently in the car on our way to Westchester County. Figures, Noah's only home is there. There's no way that he'd want to come to the townhouse especially with my sister there to question why he's not at school up state and then he'd actually have to tell her.

We pull into the long driveway of the estate and my house comes into view.

I need a shower

I think as we park the car making our way up to the front doors. It opens and I watching as Noah descends down the staircase.

"Hello my beautiful sister." He exaggerates as he reaches me and pinching my cheek playfully.

I'm in shock. Mainly because he's so happy even though just hours ago he spent the night in a jail cell. Plus whatever events happened leading up to it.

"You seem like your well."

"Well I'm out thanks to your boyfriend." He pushes his sleeves up his arms and fixes his button up shirt.

"He's not my boyfriend." I clarify feeling a blush creeping on to my cheeks.

I hear a chuckle from behind me and I know it's Alex so quickly shoot him a glare for him to shut up and he does so.

"Whatever makes you sleep at night, sweets." My brother teases pinching my cheeks again. "Now, go take a shower and change you look like shit, no offense."

I roll my eyes. "You saying 'no offense' doesn't shield people from offended you do realize that right?"

He laughs rolling his eyes. "You go and I'm gonna get myself a drink. Lana has a whole set up outside for lunch."

Lana, our beloved maid since we were born. She practically raised us since our parents were always busy. I miss her it'll be nice to see her. I can't believe she stayed here after all the a years even when weren't here for that long period of time.

I bite the inside of my mouth narrowing my eyes at Noah before looking to Alex.

"I'll be back downstairs in a little bit, is that alright?" I look between him and Noah.

Noah moves around me standing next to Alex putting an arm around him. "No worries sis, I'll behave."

What the hell happened in that car ride?

Alex seems to pay no attention but looks into my eyes deeply before slowly nodding with a small smile.

I make my way upstairs and towards my bathroom.

It's been a long time since I've actually used it.

My muscles relax against the hot water as it hits my back. My body that's spent hours stiffened is now back to its normal state.

I've got to say that I didn't expect for things to go a swiftly as they did between Noah and Alex. I think that's what I was worried about most when Alex left me at his apartment. I knew that Noah would be out of jail with the help of Alex but I wasn't sure how he was going to react once he found out it was him. Maybe during the drive they mended whatever anger they had towards each other. Or maybe bury what Noah had against Alex.
