This cap keeps slipping off my head. I walk through the alongside my mother and Melinda as they're both on the verge of tears. My dad walks nearby with his phone to his ear as he talks. I want to roll my eyes at his actions but I reframe from doing so.Noah should be here by now.
Maybe there was traffic, that wouldn't surprise me.
It's been a week since I've kissed Alex. One week since I seen or talked to him. Not even a text.
I thought how I felt wasn't one sided but maybe it was.
I sigh as I adjust my cap once again. I hold my turquoise gown in hand as we make our way up the steps carefully.
"Do you really have to wear glasses right now?" My mom scolds and I look at her smugly.
"Yes. Yes I do."
"Well don't forget to actually do something with your hair after this we have a graduation party after this." She touches my messy brown strands.
"Mom, I know but right now I have to hurry up go with my class because it's starting soon."
I run through the quad trying to find other graduates when finally I bump into Greg.
Smiling, he opens his arms and picks me up in his embrace before spinning me around.
"Man, you've been a ghost this past week what happened to you?" He says putting back on my feet.
Alex happened but I wasn't gonna tell him that.
"I know I've just been so busy but I've missed you." I say before fixing my cap one more time.
He smiles shaking his head and reaches in his pocket pulling out hair pins.
"Gregory why do have hair pins in your pockets?"
"They belong to my little sister. She's wearing a dress and wanted me to hold them but I don't think she'll mind if you use them." He steps close to me before casually clipping the cap to my hair.
"Thanks your a life saver."
"What are friends for?" He jokes shrugging.
I smile putting on my gown and zipping it up.
"Evie!"
Turning around I spot Noah jogging towards me with a guy trailing closely behind.
"You made it!" I exclaim as he hugs my body tightly.
"Of course I made it your my little sister."
Smiling my eyes trail to the tall broad guy behind him. His eyes seem as a light brown and the sun beautifully reflects his dirty blonde hair as he smiles awe stuck.
"Who's the cutie behind you?" I ask Noah causing him to blush deeply.
"This is Lucas, Evie. Lucas this is my sister Evie." He introduces us and Lucas holds out his hand and I oblige shaking it. "We met at party a week ago and hit it off."
I turn to face Greg and he seems pretty amused.
"Huh, so you finally found someone to keep latched to your hip." I smirk hiding my my happiness for my brother.
It doesn't work, he sees through it but doesn't reply. Only smiles before wishing me good luck before going to find a seat.
Our attention soon focuses on the headmaster who starting to speak to our families who are now seated. We in order to our seats. Speeches come and go and I sit bored out of my mind as I'm close to dozing off.
Alex.
Why would he leave?
If he didn't leave me that day I'm sure he would be here.
Everyone's been asking me about his whereabouts including Ana and I have no clue.
She's been bugging me with non stop questions on how we've been hanging out a lot and the events following Asher's birthday party.
But there's nothing to say.
He's like a magician when it came to disappearing and this was tough act to follow.
Everyone in my row suddenly stands and I lamely follow.
"Greg Hitchens." I watch as Greg trots across the stage snatching his diploma from the dean and holding it up proudly above his head with one hand.
Classmates cheer loudly and whistles sound around me.
"HELL YA!!" He throws his fist in air before jumping off stage.
I chuckle and time passes by before I make my mark and walk onto the hard-wooded stage.
Taking my diploma I look down at it in awe.
I finally did it.
I'm done.
Now I'm on my way to my dream University.
I shake the headmasters hand as he smiles proudly before saying congratulations and I nod before walking off the stage.

"Stop eating my lollipops." Melinda complains clearly annoyed with my antics digging her purse.I stop digging in her purse and continue to suck on my red lollipop as I gaze out of the car window.
"And Evie?"
I shift in my seat before turning to face as a smile takes it place on her lips.
"I'm proud of you." She shifts her gaze forward leaving me completely unable to process what she has said.
She's never said it to me before.
No one has.
She's proud of me.
I lean back in my chair and look back out the window with a smile settled on my face.
**********************************
It's kinda short but it's not an actual chapter, just a bonus for those who want to know the actual detail of her graduation since I skipped it in a previous chapter.
The next chapter will continue on from chapter Twenty-One as usual and the story will continue.
