"I missed you little potato!!" Jimmy said with enthusiasm as he lifted me up and twirled me around.

Everyone in the airport was looking at us and a slow clap began. Either people recognized us and knew we were just being shits, or they thought we were actually together, which was by far not the case.

"Here, let me help you with your bags." As Jimmy flopped his heaviest bag into my chest with a thud, I gave him the most disapproving face.

"I'm just messing," he giggled as he yanked the bag away. "So where's that sandwich?"

"Ah shit! I completely forgot! Well, I guess I know where we're stopping on the way home."

At the same time, we yelled, "BUFFALO WILD WINGS!!!"

No matter where we went, whether it was Chicago for Second City, New York for SNL or Florida for our couple's vacation, we always had to go to Buffalo Wild Wings.

After we finished giggling, Jimmy gingerly asked, "So, where's the significant other?"

Giving him a blank stare, I said, "Well, we had better get going. Cranky Jimmy is my least favorite Jimmy next to sleep deprived Jimmy.

I began to walk away and I could see that he wasn't following me. I turned around and looked at him as he just looked at me with his head cocked to the left with that "come on" face. "I know you'll tell me when you're ready. I just want to make sure you're okay. That's all."

He started walking to me and I said, "I know. But since you want to know, I'm not okay. I'm just a little stressed right now with everything. Eddy and I aren't doing too well and I just don't know what's going on." A tear began to form and I couldn't stop it from rolling right down my cheek. Which, of course, Jimmy saw. He grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me into his chest and held me there for a while until I could pull myself together. His hand rubbing my back and his cheek resting on my head just made me feel so safe and sound, it couldn't help but make me feel better. I pulled away and he took my head in both hands and wiped away my tears with his thumbs.

"Feel better now, pal?"

"Yeah. I needed that. Now let's freaking go so we can eat our own body weight in processed chicken."

"I wouldn't want it any other way!" Jimmy bellowed as he wrapped his arm around me and we walked out of the airport to my car.

Jimmy's Point of View

I don't think I've ever been this freaking hungry before. I ran through the whole freaking parking lot with Jess trying to keep up with me. Thank god for this girl because I'd probably be dead somewhere from starvation.

We finally got a seat and she says, "Hey, I'm going to run to the bathroom really quick. 5 hours of waiting for you and no bathroom breaks."

"Hahaha I'll hold down the fort, Chief."

"Hey order me the usual," she said as she took off.

"Black cherry Mike's Hard Lemonade?"

"You know it!" she said from over her shoulder.

I started taking a look at the menu when no later than 5 seconds later, I heard a phone buzz from across the table. It was Jess's. I couldn't help myself. I knew probably who it was, because it was her personal phone and not her work phone. I looked around and snatched it up. I didn't even know I did it, I just did. I unlocked it and it was already open to Jess and Eddy's conversation. I stopped myself before I read on, but I just couldn't freaking help it. I was so worried about her and I just wanted to make sure she was okay. I rarely see her cry, and she freaking cried in public. That means something is definitely up.  I only got to where he threatened her that if she didn't answer him, he was going to come to the party and talk to her there before I could see her coming back. I quick threw the phone to the other side of the table and picked up my menu and buried my face in it. I didn't get to read the new message.

"Hey, I think your phone went off." I said with my head still buried in my menu.

"Oh hey thanks."

As I slowly peered over my menu, I watched her open her phone. The expression on her face went from the normal natural smile, to a look of nervousness and discomfort.

"Eddy?"

"Eddy."

"Do you have something to tell me?"

"We'll talk about it later," she replied. "I just want to engorge myself in chicken and cheap alcohol."

"See? This is why you're my best friend."

"Hey, cheers to some stressful ass careers and best friends... and cheap alcohol. Especially cheap alcohol."

We clanked bottles and chugged about half of it before we had to stop to let out completely disgusting yet hilarious burps.

I know she won't talk to me about this later, so I'll give her some time. Whatever happened between them, I think something is going to go down. I just hope its not her. I need more alcohol.
