The recently woken man starred back at me with a demonic smile carved into his face. The air was still. I was still as well. Certainly not by choice. His serpent like lips parted and he hissed out, "See, Jess? I told you that wasn't the last time you would see me."
My body finally let me scream and scream I did. Jimmy spun around to face the direction I was pointing at and screaming towards. He was bent down with his back to the man and facing towards the woman we were talking to.
Jimmy quickly dove on top of me and began shouting for security which was already rushing over toward us because of all the screaming they heard. I was frantically looking around for somewhere to run. My body had finally let me regain control over it. I squirmed out from under Jimmy and began running back toward where Charlie was still parked.
I was about half way to the car and I was intercepted by Seth sprinting down the sidewalk toward me with a petrified face on.
He grabbed me and held me still and said to my face, "What's happening? What happened?"
I cried out, "Its Eddy. He's back there." I was barely able to speak.
"Where is he now?" Seth's voice was beginning to tremble. His eyes were darting around past me to try to assess the situation.
"He's back there by the stand by line." I shook the words out. "He knew I was going to be here. He was waiting for me. Seth, I'm so scared. Help me." I couldn't get the words out fast enough. The series of events that had just taken place made me dizzy and I felt as though I wasn't able to stand for another second. Seth's line of vision darted around me, so I turned to see what he was looking at.
We both turned to look at the stand by line and saw Jimmy running so fast with the most terrified look on his face.
When he got close enough to us, he screamed to Seth, "Get her inside! He's got a gun!"
People were screaming and scattering and there was no way to tell which way was up so Seth just took off with my head wrapped in his arms to protect me. We rushed inside where people were panicking as well. They must've seen what was happening outside. I, with most of my body still surrounded by Seth's arms, was rushed into an elevator who's doors were immediately shut after we entered. I could hear all the alarms going off. People were running scared. Through the screams of all the terrified people in the building, I could hear multiple gunshots coming from outside. I hoped that it was the police firing on Eddy. The shots were too inconsistent though. They sounded as if they were coming from one gun. The thought of who the bullets could've been shot out made my throat tighten and my knees go weak.
I felt one of Seth's arms leave my body and press the 8th floor button while the other was consistently wrapped around the upper part of my body. I looked around and noticed that we were the only ones in the elevator.
I frantically spat out to Seth, "Where's Jimmy?"
"I think he's still down there." Seth said as he ran his hand through his hair and pulled at it.
"I thought he was in here with us! Is he okay?!" I started hysterically screaming.
He screamed back at me, "I don't fucking know, okay?! I was just worried about you!"
I started sobbing and fell to the floor. This was all my fault. I put all those people's lives in danger. Who even knows if Jimmy is alive. I didn't want to think about that right now.
The doors flew open and Lorne was standing at them waiting for us. He reached in the elevator and grasped my left arm while Seth was hanging onto my right arm. We all emerged from the elevator where security, Lorne, and Seth rushed me down the hallway to Lorne's office in silence. We entered the doors of Lorne's office and Lorne shut them behind us, leaving the security guards outside to guard the doors.
