By the next day, everyone knew that Hunter lied. He was sitting alone at lunch, staring at the table, chewing his sandwich slowly. I kind of felt bad, but he knew what he did was wrong. No girls were sitting with him, drooling over him. No guys were slapping him on the back and laughing at everything he said. He was alone.
"That's what you wanted, so why do you seem so sad" Sabrina asks, staring at me. I frown and shrug "I don't know" I walk out the door and go outside so i can get some quiet time. I sit under a tree, and lean my back on the tree trunk. I sigh, and close my eyes. I wish Hunter was a nice guy. I open my eyes, and pick up my sandwich from my back pack. I take a bite and chew quickly, taking a few more bites until my sandwich was gone. I sipped my water, and closed my eyes again. After a few minutes I feel someone standing in front of me. I open my eyes and look up. Hunter. "Sit down" I say, I want an apology. I don't know if i will get one. He obeys and sits down in front of me. He looks at me sadly "I know what I did was wrong, and I shouldn't have tried to kiss you, or spread that rumor, I'm really sorry" He says, he looked sad. I nod slowly and look at him. I wanted to forgive him, but he has to prove he is sorry. "Thank you for your apology. I forgive you. But you have to prove your actually sorry, you can't just say you're sorry and then go back to being rude and cheating on girls" I explain. He looks at me for a few seconds before nodding. He gets up and walks away "Thanks for talking to me" Hunter says over his shoulder before walking back into the school building. I smile, he said sorry.
"I heard you and Hunter talked" Ryan sighed. I look at him and roll my eyes "News travels fast, in high school" I say. "Yes. We talked" I keep walking; Ryan was walking me home, so I couldn't escape from his questioning looks. "What did he say" Ryan asks, staring at me. "He apologised" I say, shrugging. He nods and rolls his eyes "He never means it. Did you forgive him?" He says. We're standing in front of my house when he asks the question. I look at him "Yes. I forgave him" I say, walking away and slamming the front door before he could ask anything else. Everyone deserves a second chance.
