Confusing Love

Awkward

Holidays are starting tomorrow. And I couldn't wait. After yesterdays awkward situation with Ryan, I couldn't wait to stay away from school for a while. But before school ends, I still have one more day of school...aka one more day of awkwardness between me and Ryan.

''Hey'' I sigh, sitting in the middle of Sabrina, and Elle. ''What's wrong?'' They ask, at the same time. I turn to look at Ryan nervously. ''Nothing, just tired'' I smile. Ryan smiles as well. ''Okay then'' Elle says, and Sabrina looks away, and stares at a table across the cafeteria from us, I follow her gaze. Hunter, something I wont miss in the holidays. He was gazing into a girls eyes, but It wasn't his girl friend Rachel, it was Adrianna, how dare she! ''ew, seriously?'' Sabrina gags. We all start laughing at her reaction. ''What do you expect. And look at Rachel, she's sitting alone over there'' I point. I get up ''Ill be right back'' I start walking over to the table Rachel was sitting at, eating her pudding, looking down at the table sadly. ''Hey'' I say confidently, sweetly. She looks up, obviously surprised that someone was actually talking to her. ''Oh hi'' she mumbles, smiling slightly. ''Do you want to sit over with me and my friends?'' I ask, smiling softly. She stares at me ''Really?'' she asks. I nod.

She follows me back to my table, and sits next to Elle. ''Guys, you know Rachel, Rachel this is Elle, Ryan, Sabrina, Alex, and I'm Emily'' I say, pointing to everyone as i say their names. She smiles ''Nice to meet you'' she says, with an English accent that sounded strong, and nice. I turn around ''Are you English?'' i ask. She smiles ''Yes i am'' She answers. Ryan looks at Rachel and then at the table ''Are you okay Rachel? I'm sorry about Hunter, he's a real jerk sometimes'' He says. She shakes her head slowly ''I'm fine, i can live without him, he wasnt that great of a boyfriend anyway, thanks for being there for me though, your nicer than your brother'' at that point, everyone was staring at Ryan, shocked. ''Wait, what do you mean brother?'' Sabrina spits out, clearly gobsmacked. Ryan looks at Sabrina ''I'm sorry i never told you guys, but Hunter is my step brother, i made a deal with him not to tell anyone'' Ryan explains.

We talk for the rest of lunch about school, Hunter and Rachel, and also what we're doing in the holidays. We've already said that we would all meet up together at the beach, including Rachel.
