Once it was Monday, I was ready to talk to Ryan. I don't know what will happen, but I don't think we're getting back together, I know I broke up with him over something so stupid, but I just don't want him to get angry whenever I talk to another guy. "Hey" I mumble, as I walk up to Ryan's locker, a girls arm hung around Ryan's shoulders and she giggles loudly. "Oh hi" he turns quickly and closes his locker door "See you later?" He whispers into the girl's ear, she grins and walks away. "So, you've already moved on, huh?" I say, annoyed. "Honestly, get over yourself, and leave me alone, I'm sick of you" I almost whisper, I walk away angrily.

As I was heading towards Science class, I bumped into someone and our books went flying around the hallway. I expected someone to start yelling at me, saying "watch where you're going, moron" but instead I heard a laugh coming from above me, I look up and see Max, who is in my Science class.

His fringe hung down and covered his left eye, his eyes an amazing green colour and they sparkled behind his cute black glasses. He had chestnut brown hair, and his skin was tanned, he had a few freckles along his nose. He was one of the nicest boys I have ever met, and he was so funny- he always makes me laugh in Science class- which is good because if it wasn't for him, I would fall asleep in Science class. He was quite handsome, but I haven't gotten to know him- I barely knew anything about him. "Oh, I am really sorry, I was a bit angry" I blush, and look down. "It's fine, why are you angry" he says, his lips curling into a soft smile. "Break up" I cough uncomfortably "Anyway, you know you're going the wrong way, science is that way" I point to my left. He nods "I forgot my text book in my locker" he sighs "Can you tell the teacher I'll be a few minutes late" he asks. I nod and we both walk the opposite way. When I walk into class, a few people look my way but glance back up at the teacher. "Hi Mrs Rose, sorry I'm late, me and Max ended up bumping into each other, and our books went flying. He will also be late, because he forgot his text book" I explain, apologetically. She nods her head slowly and sighs "It's fine, but next time you will both get a slip" she explains. I nod my head and walk to the back of the room and take my seat. Max comes into class a few minutes later, my eyes were staring at the text book and I didn't even realize he was back until he sat down in the seat next to me. "Oh hey, the teacher said next time we will get a slip, okay?" I whisper. He nods "Next time, you will remember to look up when you're walking" he points out, laughing. I laugh as well.

After class, Max walks next to me until I get to my locker. Then he walks the opposite way to his locker saying 'Bye' over his shoulder. After I grab my lunch, I was outside and sit down in my usual spot leaning against a tree. After a few minutes, I look up from my sandwich to see Max walking towards me. "Hey, want company?" he asks. I smile and nod. "So why are you sitting alone, aren't you friends with a whole group of people?" he says. I shrug and look away. I turn my head and stare at him for a few seconds "Yeah, well lately I haven't been sitting with them, because my ex-boyfriend is in the group and I don't want to talk to him" I grumble, looking up at the leaves above me. "Oh, ex? Who's your ex?" he asks. I look at him, and sigh.

"Ryan" I whisper. And then, at that moment, as if the world wanted Ryan to see me with Max for some reason- to make him jealous maybe? I don't know, but at that moment Ryan walks out the shiny white door leading to the outside of the school. He shifts his gaze towards me, and then Max and then to the ground. He looks shocked, as if he thought I was already with another guy (Well, I was with another guy, but not in the way he probably thinks). And anyway, I am not that kind of girl, I'm not like him who gets a new girl wrapped around him a few days after our breakup. Ryan turns around and walks back inside. I roll my eyes, and turn my attention back to Max, who is talking about the talent show- I didn't know he was going to be in it- he says he's singing and playing the guitar- I also didn't know he sang or played the guitar.

By the end of lunch I knew that Max liked animals, music, Chinese food, and soccer. He speaks fluent French, and he has also been to Tokyo for his dad's business trip last year- we never ran out of things to talk about.

Max's POV

Emily was so nice; I already knew this because we talk sometimes in Science. But today was the first time we have actually had a long conversation. She loves music- she does singing lessons, she loves surfing, animals, photography and Chinese food. We had a lot in common. She had a really good sense of humour, and I ended up laughing for most of lunch. She was so beautiful as well.
