I grabbed out with my hands, desperately trying to catch hold of something. Fortunately, my fingers reached the windowsill. Unfortunately, that caused me to collide into the wall like a pendulum. My head crashed into the brick wall. I began to see blackspots and my grip began to loosen. I felt someone pull me inside.

Jonathan had jumped over to my room the moment I missed the railing and he managed to pull me up. He handed me a glass of water from my bedside table. After my head cleared, I looked up into the mirror to assess the damage.

My head had a nasty gash above the eyebrow and now the blood was dripping down my cheek like red tears. My elbows had nasty scrapes which were seriously burning like hell. But what surprised me, was that I needed this pain. I didn't want it to go away. It shifted my focus from what Jonathan said to me a few minutes earlier.

"Are you alright?" Jonathan asked, looking worried. "Yeah. I am fine." I replied, with a shrug. "Okay, but this doesn't change anything." Jonathan said as he left. I shut the window behind him with a bang and pulled the curtains shut. My whole body was shaking in anger, at the hurt the Jon was causing me. He was making a mountain out of a molehill. He was reacting strangely. And it hurt. I picked up the phone and dialled one number. A voice I desperately needed to hear, who would tell me everything would be okay.

I called up Dylan and narrated the whole incident to him. "Could you come over?" I asked him when I was done. "I was already out of the house when you started talking. I know when you are upset Kay, you are my best friend. Will be there in five." He said as he kept the phone.

I went into the kitchen to grab a first aid kit. I had completely forgotten about the wounds and now my shirt had blood drops on them. I grabbed the box and ran back to my bathroom. I first washed my wounds. The head wound didn't hurt much, but the elbows burnt so much, it didn't feel wanted anymore. I broke open the bottle of iodine and put some of it on a cotton ball. I gritted my teeth to face the pain and applied it on my forehead. To say it burned would be an understatement. I groaned out loud.

"Here, sit down. Let me do it for you." Dylan held my shoulders as he guided me to the bathtub. I sat down on the edge. "That's a nasty cut you've got. And your elbows too. How in the world exactly did you get the brains to jump of the window when you weren't in the right piece of mind?"

I gave him a watery grin. "I wasn't always the brightest person to start with." I tried a lame attempt at self-humour. "But I need something. How am I so banged up in the first place? What am I to tell Mom?" I saw Dylan trying not to laugh and I rolled my eyes. "Like seriously Dyl? You laughing now? Ever heard of being appropriate?" I scolded him. "Sorry!" he said, a sheepish grin on his face. Looking at that grin brought up so many memories of Jon, like how he looked when Nathan had caught us kissing, or my parents had once caught him in my room (long story). My face changed into something even I did not know what. Dylan looked at me and came and sat down next to me.

"Kay, on a more serious note, are you really okay?" he asked me, concern audible in his voice. "Does it look like I am okay?" I asked him. The anger which I had held up so long, came out when I heard the concern in his voice. I cried. Cried till me heart began to actually ache. Dylan held me close, his shirt getting wet with all those tears. "Shh Kaylen, don't cry. It will be alright. Jonathan will come around. He just said he wants a break right?" Dylan ran his hand over my back, trying to soothe me. "When was the last time the line, 'Let's take a break' not resulted in a break up Dylan?" I asked him, my voice shaking because of the tears. Dylan did not answer that question.
