*10 years later*

"Just look at you!" Ashley cried, wiping away false tears. "So beautiful!" Emma and Rose piped up in unison.

"My girl, you sure look pretty as hell." Dylan said, earning an elbow from Rachel.

"Okay, so you are wearing this pendant, which is old, the earrings are new. You are wearing my wedding garter, which I very much want back, so that's done with borrowed. Now we need something blue." Rachel's eyebrows scrunched up trying to think of something.

Just then mom came holding the most beautiful blue tiara in her hands. "And here is something blue." She smiled at me as she placed the tiara on my forehead. I couldn't help notice the tears she was holding back. I wasn't strong enough though. I just let go.

"There, there sweetheart. Don't cry now. You will ruin your make up which Ashley sure did painstakingly work on. Which reminds me, get ready Ashley, or the bride will have to go without the Maid of Honor." Mom gave her a small smile.

"Holy crap! I totally forgot! Give me 10 minutes tops!"

Soon enough, all of my bridesmaids were ready. Ashley was the Maid of Honor and looked resplendent in her blue gown. We both had matching sashes around our waists. The other three bridesmaids were but of course Rachel, Emma and Rose. They wore matching gowns – blue.

They went to take their places at the altar.

I walked up to my dad. I couldn't believe this was it. I was getting married! I was getting the happy ending I had always wanted as a kid. Dad took my arm and I pretended not to notice the tears glistening in his eyes. After all, his baby girl was getting married.

The doors opened and as I saw his familiar face, I couldn't but grin. As I began walking down the aisle to the beat of the wedding march, my mind began playing back moments from the day we first met.

High school. Where it had all began. What had started as a beautiful friendship, after facing the normal high school ups and downs had all come down to this. Bliss.

As I stood up there, facing him, I remembered the feeling I had first met him, when he first entered English class. He was late, and flushed. He looked the same now, red as a tomato. But he was smiling this time.

The priest was saying the words, but all I could think of was where we had started and where we were now. No amount of words would describe how happy I was.

"Do you, take Kaylen to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The priest asked.

"I do" he said.

"And do you, take Nathan to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

My time had come. I looked into those chocolate brown eyes and brown hair which reminded me of the waves of the ocean and smiled as I said,

"I do"
