Tyler had just dropped off Mackenzie, reminding her that he was gonna pick her up soon.

"I won't forget." she had said and flashed a smile, not one of her genuine ones.

Tyler walked inside his house, and jogged upstairs to his bedroom. He lied on his bed and dialed Jolee's number on his cell phone.

"Hey Ty." Jolee said cheerily into the phone.

"Hey Jolee, I'm going to pick you up at like 7:30pm, okay?" he said, happy to hear her voice.

"Alright, is Mackenzie coming?" she asked, a little bit of hope in her voice.

Jolee really liked Mackenzie. She considered Mackenzie one of her best friends because she was sweet, patient, and funny. Tyler thought that was amazing, he got to hang out with his two best girls all the time.

"Yep! She said she would. I'm going to pick her up at 7pm." Tyler said

"Awesome! Bye Ty!" she chirped

"Bye Jolee." he said, smiling.

Life really was good.

*6:45pm*

Tyler got all of his stuff together and hopped into his car, about to go pick up Mackenzie.

He drove up to her house, her porch lights were on.

He saw her silhouette in her upstairs window and saw it disappear. He chuckled slightly to himself at her action.

Dork. he thought to himself.

She walked outside, closing the door behind her and standing in the porch lights, just staring at the car.

She had a look on her face, a far away look.

Tyler rolled down his window and shouted "C'mon Lowly! I don't have all day!" .

She smirked and walked to the car.

Tyler looked at what she was wearing, everything was tight in ther right places, and she looked really sexy.

"Are you meeting someone at the party or something?" Tyler said, not liking the idea of another guy touching her.

"What guy would actually want to go out with me Tyler? Tell me and I'll give them a call." she said.

He shrugged and continued to drive.

They sat in silence for a little bit. Just staring out the windows of the car, looking at the small town come to life under the cover of darkness.

Tyler pulled up in Jolee's house.

"Hey, Macky. Can you sit in the back?" he asked.

Mackenzie looked at him. There was something in her eyes, something in the expression on her face. She was trying to wipe it out, it was hard to see what she was really feeling.

"Yeah." she croaked and got out, when Jolee stepped out of her door.

Mackenzie turned her head toward the sound of a door slamming. She saw Jolee, beautiful. As always. Her perfect wavy light blonde hair. Her big blue eyes. Her small face.

"Macky!" she said, and ran up to hug her.

Mackenzie hugged her back half heartedly.

"Hey Joey." she said, with a smile.

That same forced smile.

Jolee smiled brightly and got in the passenger's seat. Mackenzie felt rejected, like she was secondary.

It's just a seat Mack. Get it together. she thought to herself.

She couldn't shake the sadness. But, she could sure as hell diguise it. She got in the back seat and looked out the window.

"So, Macky, you look pretty." Jolee said looking in the mirror at her.

"Thanks Jolee, so do you." Mackenzie said with a smile. Fake.

She knew that Jolee looked way prettier than her, and could blow her out of the water with bitchiness. But, Jolee was nice.

She could outshine Mackenzie any day of the week.

"Are you guys gonna drink tonight?" Jolee asked, her eyes lighting up.

There was possibly only one flaw about Jolee. Jolee liked to drink. And when she drunk, she liked to fuck.

Not just Tyler.

"Oh, hell yeah." Tyler said, grinning.

"What about you Macky?" Jolee said.

"Uh, no. I'm not much of a drinker." she said, wrinkling her nose slightly in disgust.

"Oh, well hey. Someone's gotta drive home." Jolee said with a grin.

Mackenzie flashed another fake smile and the car grew silent as they pulled up. Tyler, Jolee, and Mackenzie all got out of the car, the smile of liquor in the air.

"I love the smell of a good party." Jolee said, flashing a devilsh smile.

They all walked into John's house. It was a basic 2 story house.

"You ready?" Tyler said, grinning at Mackenzie.

"I guess." Mackenzie said, Tyler sensed some nervousness.
