Mackenzie stopped at the edge of the woods, staring off at the cliff she had stood on a month ago. She walked slowly and carefully through the thick brush of the woods to the cliff.
It seemed to have a auroa of its own; it was calling her to just be in the magnificient beauty.
As she walked toward the cliff, an all too familiar voice called her name,
"Mackenzie!"
"Mack!"
She turned her head slowly as the thumping foots steps came to a hault.
Tyler stood before her, in all his heartbreaking glory. Somehow, he was different. He wasn't nearly as beautiful as Mackenzie remembered him to be.
His hair didn't shine the same way, and his face didn't sit like it used to.
"What are you doing?" he asked, winded.
"I'm going to school." she answered in a hollow voice.
"Mack, I was gonna take you to school. You know I do everyday, and I know you saw-"
"Why can't you just leave me alone?" Mackenzie asked harshly.
Tyler's mouth opened, but no sound came out. His brows collapsed together.
"Mack, what are you talking about? Are you mad at me or something?" Tyler asked, his voice confused and hurt.
Mackenzie shook her head and put an empty smile on her face, "Am I mad? No. No, Tyler I'm not mad at you, I'm frustrated. I'm hurt. I'm completely done."
"What are you talking about?"
"How many times did I say I cared about you? And how many times did you throw it right back in my face, Tyler? You know how I know when I matter to you? Whenever you're bored and need something to pass the time until you get another whore to play around with. Then, when you do get another skank, I'm nothing but entertainment. I used to think I meant something to you, even as a friend, sometimes more than that. But, now that I can think, I realize I was never anything more than a play thing to you. I was never anything to you, when you were the whole world to me." she said in a dangerously mad voice.
"Mack, you know that's not-"
"So, you know what Tyler?" she said, her eyes burning angry. They lit up like a firework.
"If I had known you felt that way-"
She turned her head so that she could barely even see his outline.
"I don't love you like I used to."
And with that, Mackenzie walked from the cliff on her way to school.
