She blinked her eyes open slowly, cautiously.
Because honestly, Mackenzie couldn't remember where the hell she was.
She looked around the room she was in. It was unfamiliar, and instantly she shrunk into herself thinking only the worst possible explanations.
A murderer had picked her up on the way home and he was going to hurt her more than she already was. She couldn't find it in herself to care about anything else as soon as she felt the throbbing of her head.
"Oh, fuck me." she said out loud.
She looked around the room and finally down at the bed she was sleeping on.
And on the pillow next to her, there was a mess of tangled black hair and moonstruck skin.
"No." she whispered to herself.
This couldn't have happened. How could she have let it go to this? Why wasn't there a tell-tale ache between her thighs. Why wasn't she losing her mind right now?
Oh wait, she thought, I am.
She felt her heart swell with utter disappointment. She throttled him in the back, stunning him awake.
"What the hell?" he mumbled in a gravily voice.
She ignored the instant attraction.
"What the hell?! Shouldn't I be the one asking you that Tyler?!" she said, outraged.
He sat up with clear confusion on his face, "What are you talking about?"
"You took advantage of me." she said, sinking back into her indifferent darkness.
His brows crinkled.
"Did we sleep together?" she asked plainly.
Tyler's face slowly grew soft and gentle, a vulnerable look in his stain-glass eyes. He shook his head a little.
"No Mack, you know I wouldn't do that to you." he said in a harmless and sweet voice.
"But, you would." Mackenzie said coldly.
"I didn't did I?"
Mackenzie looked directly at him, letting her eyelids guard her open eyes that didn't match her expression.
"Hey Mack." he said, so quiet she could barely hear.
"Hey Tyler." she said back in the same tone.
"I miss you."
Mack's face fell into a sorrowful crooked smile, "Me too."
