Ella Fisher walked steadily into here 7th grade homeroom.
She wasn't quite sure what to expect, all she knew was that with her tight black spandex and long purple shirt she felt more like herself than she ever had.
She was dismissed and walked aimlessly to the gym.
Her first RA class of the year.
She walked in and was told she had to sit on the bleachers or play the game which required more effort than she could muster.
She looked around, the wool boots that her friend traded for her tennis shoes made her feet sweat like they where being subdued to hot coals.
And that's when it happened.
She turned her head and looked at Frederick Faulker for more than a cursory glance, and she felt this instant familiarity.
Like she knew him or had seen him before.
Before 5th grade.
Before 6th grade.
Before she even existed. She felt a love so painful that it racked her entire being and pulled her soul across the gym.
He hadn't glanced up at her.
So, she got down off the bleachers and ran up to embrace him in a bear hug. They had never really talked or come in contact before.
She said nothing and walked back to her spot.
Her breath moving at an unreasonable pace.
In that moment, she knew that she had found the one for her, the only one that would ever fit.
When gym was over, she walked out of the locker room, her next class on her mind.
There was a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and met eyes like the sky.
"Hey." Frederick said, a wide smile on his face.
And so, the story replayed just like it had many years ago, for the souls of Mackenzie and Tyler Landry, who even after death and being reborn, found each other again.
