Tyler stomped his fingers on the keypad of his cellphone. Dialing Jolee's number.

"Hello?" he heard her voice say. It was rough and gravelly.

"Hey Jolee." he said, trying to sound like his normal self.

Fighting back the tears that were resurfacing.

"Hey. Did you make it home last night alright?" she asked.

His fist clenched, his jaw tightened. He knew that that cheating bitch had a nice time at the party. He knew that she stayed over. And she wasn't alone.

"Yeah, Mackenzie drove me home. Did you?" he asked. His voice was sharp, he was giving her the chance to tell the truth.

So, maybe he could forgive and forget.

"Um, yeah I stayed over the house in the guest bedroom. No big deal, you know how close me and John are." she said nonchalantly.

She lied. She fucking lied again.

"Oh yeah? How close?" he said, his voice tinting with anger.

"Oh you know, he's like a brother or cousin to me." she said, starting to get nervous.

Nervous because she didn't like the fact that he was drilling her with questions.

"Really?" he snapped.

"Yeah, Tyler what the hell is wrong with you?" she said back.

"What the hell is wrong with me?" he chuckled darkly at the irony. What the hell was wrong with him?

"Yeah. Why are you acting so defensive? Whats with the sudden interest in where I spend the night?" she fired back.

"The sudden interest came when I was told you were passed around like a fucking STD. What the fuck Jolee?" he shouted into the phone.

"I don't know what you're talking about Ty." she said boredly.

"You don't know what I'm talking about? Okay, how about we specify? How about last night? Or last week? Or last month?" he said, trying to control his shaking voice.

"What about it?" she asked.

"How long have you been cheating on me?" he said back calmly.

Tears swelled in his eyes. His throat closed up, he felt like his whole chest was about to collapse on him. And he could do absolutely nothing about it.

She stayed silent for a while, then she sighed and said, "I didn't want you to find out this way."

"Like what? Someone else telling me?" he replied, his voice cracking at the end.

"Was it Macky?"

Tyler didn't know what to say. He didn't want to give Macky away, because he knew she was friends with Jolee.

"Why does it matter who told me? What matters is that you fucked up, Jolee. You fucked up big time. And I don't even want to see your face. I dont want to hear your skanky voice anymore. Go get John to finger you, bitch. We're done." he slammed his phone shut.

He felt a sob build up in his chest. He wanted to let it go, he wanted to let Jolee go. He didn't want to care that she had cheated on him.

But, Macky and Jolee were all he had left.

Now there was only Macky.

And he couldn't let her go. He couldn't let her leave no matter what. Because right now, he needed his best friend more now than ever.
