Chapter Thirty-four
Dez'Juan Rodriguez
I sat in my office just looking at all the flies' that was on my desk. I was mad right now. Someone was trying to build up a case against all of us. I hated crooked ass cops. I knew it had to be them doing this.
I glanced up, hearing that my door opened up. Once I saw who it was, I just shook my head.
"Tf you doing here" I snapped at her. She jumped a little before walking closer to me. She sat on my desk moving the folders over. I was growing more and angrier by the minute.
"I missed you, Dez" she said. "How come you didn't come see me when you got out" she gave me the puppy dog look. I laughed right in her face causing her to frown.
"I have a girlfriend" I simply stated. I had a gut feeling of shooting her. Something wasn't right. I was about to pull out my gun when Tej came in.
"Dez, I'm hungry" he said. He looked at me then looked over at her. "Who is this" he asked. I shook my head picking Tej up. I slid my phone and keys into my pocket. I turned towards her direction.
"When I come back, you better be gone or that ass is going to be in the hospital" I growled out. She just stared at me scared as fuck. I laughed making my way out.
She really thinks I'm going back to her after what she did. She got life all the way fucked up.
I looked down at Tej and he was causally playing on his IPhone I'd brought for him.
I made my way out of the trap to my truck, opening the door for Tej. I pulled out my phone texting Ronnie about this new plan I had in mind.
Once I was done, I threw my phone in the passenger seat turning towards Tej. "So, where we going to eat" I asked him. He looked up smiling hard.
"T.G.I Friday's" he practically screamed out. I nodded in agreement starting the truck up. I ain't going to lie to myself. At first, it was weird having a kid around 24/7 but, now it's little easier than before. With Tej around, I low key want more kids around. I wasn't the type to have kids back then but, now I've changed in some ways. I'm still working on some parts.
I just know that I want to settle down and have kids eventually.
"Can you turn the radio up, dad, I mean Dez" I heard Tej say, making me look at him. "Oops, my bad, I didn't mean to say" he said.
"It's alright, little man" I tell him, "call me whatever you want" I assured him. I knew he was happy by the way he shouted and clapped his hands.
"You're my dad now" he sung out. "You treat mommy and me way better than Chris" he said happily. He turned his focus back onto the radio, singing along to it. With Tej saying that I was his dad now, it made me feel some type of way in a good way though.
I pulled up into TGI Friday's parking lot making a phone call before we got out. It was a little urgent that I make this call.
"Ready to go eat" I asked Tej as I slid my phone into my pocket. I glanced in the backseat seeing him standing behind my seat.
"Yeah, been ready dad" he said smirking.
"Aright, let's go" I said.
I knew deep down inside something wasn't right but, then again, everything seem normal. It's like we're being watched from a distance but, ain't shit going to happen with me in the picture.

As I entered the house, I just couldn't help but, notice how dirty it was. This is the last time I clean up after Dez and Tej. I made my way up the stairs, passing the dirty living room and kitchen in disgust.
I could hear the sound of videogames being played from Tej's room.
"No fair" I heard Tej say, "You're cheating, daddy" Tej said as I heard Dez chuckled.
"Nope, I'm just that good, little man" Dez said. I peeked into the bedroom smiling. It was great that Dez was bonding with Tej.
With all that has happened in the last few months, it was great to have some peace and quiet. I headed down the hall to our room.
Kicking off my boots, I walked into the bathroom. I was going to prepare myself a nice bubble bath after the day I had. And then I was going to prepare dinner.
I wasn't ten minutes into my bath when Dez came storming in, looking confused. "Damn" he said biting his lip. I lifted my head up looking at him.
"Yes" I'd politely said. "How can I help you" I smirked. He groaned smiling at me.
"And you wasn't going to invite me" he said. I laughed shaking my mind.
"Nope, I was relaxing by myself without y'all" I simply said. Dez smacked his teeth moving further in to the bathroom.
I could tell something was wrong. Just by the way he moved in to the bathroom. He grabbed a towel for me as I stood up, letting the water drained out.
"We need your help with something" He told me. I made my way towards the closet, throwing on some leggings and tank top. Then, I turned towards Dez, trying to see what they needed my help with.
"So, what it is" I asked.
"Need help in the kitchen" He said in confusion. I couldn't help but, chuckle a little bit. Dez and Tej were trying to cook. This should be fun to watch.
I followed Dez downstairs in to the kitchen. Tej was gradually sitting at the table in confusion. I looked over at stove and just shook my head causally.
They really were trying to cook something. But, I guess whatever they tried to cook back fire on them.
"What were y'all trying to cook" I asked looking at them.
"Fettuccine Alfredo, mommy" Tej said looking up. He sighed getting up, "but, it didn't come out like yours, though" he said sadly. I picked him up as he laid his head on my shoulder.
"It's okay" I spoke softly, "You'll get next time. Just gotta keep practicing" I tell him. He looked up at me smiling.
"Can we go out to eat instead" Tej asked. And I shook my head yes as Tej slid down happily.
'Let's go get dressed first" I heard Dez say, coming in to the kitchen. He looked angry like something was bothering him.
I walked back upstairs to our room, finding something to wear. Dez walked in, sitting on the bed. I walked over, standing in front of him.
"What's going on" I asked. He caressed my thigh before speaking up. He pulled me on to his lap.
"I don't think I can do this anymore. I'm ready to kill those niggas" he said growing aggravated. I just looked at him knowing something must of happen.
"What happened" I said as Dez made ne stand up. He got up going in the closet. I followed.
"They're trying to have a case built against us" he threw on a shirt, grabbing some pants to put on. "I'd be damn if I go back to jail" he said finally.
I hurried up and got dressed as Tej came in.
"I'm ready" Tej said happily.
"Alright lil man" Dez said walking out the bathroom.
As we headed out to the car, Dez asked Tej where he wanted to go to eat.I couldn't help but, think about what Dez said.
I know it's only been a few months but, I don't know what I would do if Dez went back to jail.
Since we meet that day, Dez has been really good to me and Tej in so many ways.A/n :
