Chapter Six
Daria Jackson
I honestly don't know why Kira would date that. I just can't look at Devon. Not after what he did. But, I wasn't about to get into all that.
While Devon was laid up with Kira at home, I left and went to the mall with my best friend Deyjah.
I need to take my mind off of that situation.
"Mm, there go your little boy toy" she said pointing across the food court at her brother. I looked up.
I saw him. I just don't get why he messes around with a freshman and he's a junior. I'm not all that pretty like those junior girls. I was playing with the cinnabon when I saw him walking over when his friend left.
"Sup y'all" he said sitting next to me.
"Sup By" Deyjah kept looking at me.
"Hey" I said still playing with my cinnabon.
He grabbed my hand turning me towards him. "What's wrong?" He said putting my face in his hands.
"Nothing" I said turning back to the cinnabon. Deyjah texted me, getting up. She had to leave.
"You haven't answered my texts or calls" he said.
"I was busy" I said.
"What's going on?" He asked me. I sighed knowing that Byron wasn't going to stop asking questions. He never stops until I'm feeling better. I love him for that.
"Nothing" I got up throwing away the cinnabon.
"Come here" he pulled me towards him starting to walk, "Something is going on" he told me.
"It's nothing, By" I reassured him.
"Sure, you'll tell me later" he said with a chuckle. I laughed, knowing I was going to tell him later.
"You still shopping, babe" he asked me.
"Only if you stop asking questions" I laughed playfully hitting him.
"Mm" he said, "let's go to your favorite store" he grabs a hold of my hand walking to Forever 21.
I know deep down I couldn't get it off my mind, just being with Byron all day.
It wouldn't leave my mind. That's just fucked up.
Byron Bradford
I didn't know what was up with Daria. But, I was just confused with it all.
She'd basically turned down all our favorite spots. She'd even complained about being in the house. She confuses the shit out of me some times. I just don't get her sometimes. I was just chilling on the couch when she threw fruit at me.
"Yes baby" I said looking at her.
"Why we here" she said pouting.
"You turned down every spot we went to" I said turning back to the tv.
"Let's go now" she stood up pulling on me.
"Nah I'm good" I said. I pulled her on to my lap, trying to watch tv again.
"Baby" she said with a whine. I looked at her then back at tv.
"What baby" I said.
"I'm bored" She said getting up. She tried to pull me up but, I didn't move. I groaned knowing she wasn't gonna stop complaining.
"Where you want to go" I asked.
"Anywhere" she said sitting back down. "I promise I won't complain" Daria told me.
I know some down the line, she gonna complain. I got up stretching. She better be happy she my baby and I care about her.
"Mm" I said grabbing my keys. I knew the right place to go with her annoying ass. Take her mind off whatever is bothering her.
I don't like my baby is being stressed out.
