After that incident with Eric (the kiss, I mean), Royce started to act weirdly around me.
We got to my room five minutes before the doctor will check my leg for his rounds. The doctor checked my leg and after doing so, he warned to not walk on and with it until it's okay with the help of some therapy session for my leg every now and then. It was still not okay, I can feel the metal under my leg's skin, and it's like being part Wolverine.
But Royce, it was like he was half heartedly doing stuff for me. Unlike what he did, he went outside for 'a walk' but then he didn't come back and made Megan babysit. The next morning when the doctor had allowed us to go home, but made us set an appointment for the leg therapy first before saying so, Royce arrived in a fresh pair of clothes. He left in his leather jacket and usual bad boy attire but came back in his boy next door outfit or in my translation, the 'I'm-Bored-So-I-Grabbed-Stuff-And-Put-Them-On', the random clothes that was left laying on his room floor.
A blue plaid shirt, a pair of ripped jeans with his converse on was his look and yes, I did check him out. He looked stunning in such clothes, and when he yawned, I almost shrieked like a fangirl. It was a big gesture for a fan even when your crush just yawned. Blush crept on my face which made my cheeks feel hot and obviously like a tomato, even when I tried to look serious and fierce.
You can never look pretty infront of such a handsome guy. I mean, like salon gorgeous kind of pretty. Perfect hair, no saliva on your lips, or stunning outfit. We're not a disney princess.
He shot me a look to which I mustered and showed a smile. Royce's lips twitched, as if he was pondering whether to smile back or not and I was expectant of his smile— for he hasn't smiled, just smirked— but he just showed a scowl instead then walked over to Mom and helped her with the paper bags.
I looked away and immediately thought of something that I could have done that made him act like that, but isn't usual for Royce to act like he he hates everyone? I just shook my head and got off the bed then helped in packing my stuff. Then, Logan went inside the room, huffing and puffing from climbing the stairs because the elevator was being fixed. He caught our attention and I stifled a giggle because of his appearance: he looked haggard and sweaty like he just had gym class. But a smile broke onto my face when he announced that we can go to our home sweet home.

I let oit a sigh of relief as we got to our house. The whole ride to our house was very, how do you call this, a riot. Yes, riot seems to be the perfect adjective.
It began when Royce entered the car and slammed it behind him, then sat beside Megan. She was the one beside me and Royce and our seating arrangement in the car was like this: Me, Megan and Royce while Mom sat on the passenger seat, the three of us on the back seat, and Logan was sitting beside our stuff on the seat behind us.
Megan suddenly spoke, "I saw Royce talk to a girl!"
I faced the both of them and saw that Royce rolled his eyes. "So what? It's not like I'm ugly that no girl is ever unattracted to me." He said, but when Megan stared at him, it was like he got the context. His eyes widened and he yelled, "What the– Megan!"
Megan folded her arms across her chest and faced him. "What, it's true!" She fished her phone out of her purse and started scrolling something on the screen. I peeked on her phone and saw that she was looking for something in her phone gallery.
After finding what she was looking for, she showed her phone in front of Royce's face which made the latter turn red in the face with either fury or embarrassment. I didn't even think that Royce can show such an expression like that, which was amusing to watch thanks to Megan.
Royce tried to pry Megan's phone off her hand but her phone seemed to be stuck on her hand with glue. Then, Megan faced me and showed the photo they were fighting about right onto my face and I was baffled.
On Megan's phone was a photo of Royce and a girl with blonde hair, a sense of style, and by her posture, I can definitely tell that she was Piper. The photo was taken at night, at some restaurant's wall. I don't recognize the place but it looked like it was a place built on nowhere. A streetlamp was the only thing illuminating the streets, making the photo a bit more visible because for sure, whoever took the photo of then didn't use his or her phone's flash. It wasn't Megan, another thing that is for sure, she was annoying me for the whole day when Royce was out and about.
On the photo, Piper's back was on the wall, with Royce pressing himself on her and their faces almost touching. Not really scoop worthy, but it did make me feel something.
Then, I remember Piper telling about it being my fault for their break up, but what's this?
"Are you two okay again?" I asked, nonchalantly. I wasn't in the mood for love or being a matchmaker or anything. Royce was sending mixed signals, like first he cares then he doesn't. First it's me, then another girl, or is it just me?
Royce tored his gaze off from Megan and looked at me directly, as in eye to eye. His gaze didn't waver when he answered.
