I pulled my hand back.
The handsome drummer halted and slowly, he faced me. He looked at me with confusion in his eyes, but it was quickly covered by a look of understanding. Eric opened his mouth to speak, then immediately closed it. With a small smile, he nodded at me. I took that as a cue and made my way through the crowd again.
Royce has something that I need.
•••••
The crowd smelled like alcohol as the night went deeper. The people also went wilder as if they were werewolves to a fullmoon. Guys started to kiss their girl's necks and moans were somehow audible even when the music was turned up so loud that you couldn't hear your own voice even if you shout.
But there I was, acting like a wallflower yet again.
Amidst all the party, I stood at the corner and scanned the crowd for a familiar face that I haven't seen eversince Eric yanked me towards the crowd. I wanted to chase after the kiss thief too, but Royce is more important because you know the reason.
Incase you were wondering about something else, let me tell you that it's because of the matchmaking notebook. Let's set the feelings aside, shall we?
What's business is business.
I scoffed at myself. What business is purely business when you know that you already broke the only rule that you even made yourself?
I have been standing at the corner where the drinks and food are at for about, half an hour? And my legs are aching because of these stupid shoes. But no sight of Royce yet.
Not to be bragging but guys had asked me if I wanted to dance with them, but I learned from my mistakes to not talk to a drunk stranger ever. So obviously, I declined. Some were incredibly handsome though.
But! Focus on finding that idiot first, he has something extremely private and if he sees what's written on the back part of the notebook- I don't even want to think about it.
I waddled- yes, my feet hurts that much that I can only move from one place to another by waddling- towards the bleachers and sat there. I let out a sigh of relief as soon as I got to sit. I also stretched my legs and it was annoying that I couldn't take off my shoes because of the laces. I could just simply stand, bend my knees and reach for my shoes to untie the laces to take the shoes off but that is if I could do that in this dress.
Shrugging the thought off, I let my gaze wander at the crowd to look for Royce but no such luck. Maybe he went home: either by himself or with a girl. Would he go home to some other girl's house? Or maybe he went home with the girl who gave him a business card. Would he really do that? Did he ever do that?
I guess he isn't like the Royce I fell in love deeply with, the guy that I made as the basis of my crushes. The guy I picked to be the basis of my future husband.
That is the secret being beared by the seven pages of my matchmaking notebook. That's why I want to get my notebook back so bad because if he reads those pages, he'll either understand me and acknowledge my feelings or simply break me all over again but this time, he knows how much I love him.
I looked down at the fabric of my gown and touched it. It felt soft under my touch and too bad that I didn't bring out the beauty of this gown by dancing while wearing it and flaunting it like how Megan does in her gown.
I recall seeing her dancing when I only stood at the corner for about 15 minutes. She was spinning graciously in her red gown while a handsome boy was dancing with her, holding her gently.
The back of my eyes started to feel warm and I felt hot fluid run down on the both of my cheeks. I quickly wiped the tears away and then did I notice that I wasn't holding my purse no more.
