Chapter 5

I was woken by the sound of screaming, it took a minuet to register where I was, I rolled over and where Louise should of been there was an empty space. Oh no she was in trouble, I got up and ran out of the tent and bumped right into Dan.
"What is going on?" Dan asked
"It's Louise, I think she could be in trouble" I replied
"Where is she?"
"I don't know"
Anothee scream came, this time louder, it was coming from the direction of the cars.
"Come on!" I yelled, running off without a moments hesitation, Dan was close behind, we ran full speed towards the sound of the scream, I could see the cars just ahead and Louise right beside them.
"Oh my god" I said, when we arrived.
"What the?" Dan said, gapping at the cars.
Each car had a flat tyre all the windows smached to bits, there were scatch marks down the sides and all the bonnets open and engines torn out and into parts.
"Louise hun, are you ok?" I asked walking over to where she stood.
"I just wanted to go home" Louise sobbed
"You could of told me" Dan said
"What the hell happend here?" James asked arriving at the scene.
"I don't know" I replied, shaking my head.
"It was that thing, that chased us" Louise said
"Nonsense" James replied
"It could of been" I said
"Why would it do this?"
"To stop us, getting away"Louise replied.
"Oh my car!" Max said, now walking over to beloved car.
"Grear now we can't go anywhere" Dan said
"We'll just have to ride this out" James added.
"Anything missing?" I asked
"Hard to tell" Max said.
"Don't worry, it will be fine" I said
"So we wait for that thing to get us" Louise sobbed
"The fire probably got rid of it last night, it won't be back" I said, trying to reasure Louise.
"Come on lets get back to camp" Max said.
We truddged back, now we had no way of getting back until someone came looking for us, we got back to camp and Dan built a fire, I stuck with Louise and we sat down.
"Katie!!! Your feet!" Max shouted
"What?" I asked, I looked down, the bottom of my feet were bleeding very badly.
"Oh, shit!" I shouted
"You went out there with nothing on your feet?" James asked
"Yeah, my best friend was in trouble"
"Here" Max said, handing me the first aid kit, I pulled out a large bandage and James helped me rap it around my feet.
"Do they hurt?" James asked
"No, not really, I usualy go round the house with nothing on my feet".
"This is all my fault" Louise said
"How is that?" I asked
"I ran off and you followed"
"That does not make it your fault, I should of realised, I had nothing on my feet"
"Yes you need your feet" Max said
"No walking for you" James told me .
I just rolled my eyes, I hated sitting around.
I was sitting there, when I had the strangest feeling, I was being watched I tried to ignore it but I just could not, I turned around and saw Max who was by his tent just staring at me he smiled and blushed.
"He likes you" Louise said, walking over
"He does?" I asked
"Yeah he does, I asked him"
"What? Why?"
"He has liked you for ages, and just not said anything"
"Oh wow"
"How are your feet?"
"Sore, but I can't believe Max likes me"
"Well he does, so what are you going to tell James?"
"Tell him the truth"
"If your sure?"
"Yes I am"
"Do you need anything?"
"A new pair of feet" I laughed
"Can't get those" Louise also laughed
"No I am fine"
Louise nodded and walked off to our tent, I could not believe what she had just told me, what a trip this was turning out to be. I looked up and saw James talking to Max, about the cars I guessed, I knew what, I had to tell him would break his heart but I just did not feel the same way anymore. James saw me looking at him and started to walk over, this was it.
"Hay babe, how are the feet?" James asked
"Sore, but I will be ok, James" I stopped a moment
"Yes, what is it?" James asked
"I need to tell you something"
"Go on"
"Well it's about us"
"Oh, what about us?"
"James, I know why you brought me here and its very sweet of you, but I can't, I just don't feel the same way" I stopped and looked at James he looked shocked and sad.
"You don't feel the same, why?"
"I can't explain it, I just don't. Everyday is the same, I am just fed up"
"Oh, right I see"
"Don't be angry please. I wanted to tell you before but I just could not, I just don't want to be with you"
"Oh, I see"
"I am so sorry, I could not tell you before, I really am, can we still be friends?"
"Yes, sure"
"Thanks"
"I am going to go now" James said, walking off.
I started to cry, what had I done?
He would probably hate me forever and never speak to me again, and that made me cry even more.
"Kat hun, what is wrong?" Louise asked, coming over.
"I just broke up with James" I sobbed
"What?"
"I just told him, it was over"
"Oh Kat" Louisr said, giving me a hug, I went on crying for a little while.
"Better now?"
"Yeah thanks" I replied wipping my tears
"That a girl, now cheer up single life can be fun, and besides Max likes you" Louise winked
"Oh you, I have only just broke up with James what he think if I started seeing Max?"
"Let James think what he wants and you don't have to see Max straight away, get to know him in a new way"
"I suppose"
"Good girl"
"That will have to wait it is getting dark and I need my rest"
"I'll help you" Louise said, taking my arm and helped me to our tent it took a while my feet were so sore.
"Here we are"
"Thank you"
"You girls ok?" Max asked, popping his head in
"Yes fine" Louise replied, I just nodded.
"Ok, well goodnight" Max said, as he went giving me a kiss on the cheek.
"Told you he likes you" Louise said
"Yeah, it lookes that way" I replied
Getting to know Max in a new way, could be interesting, I wanted to see hin again.
"Goodnight Kat" Louise said
"Night Lou" I replied, I driffted off straight away with Max on my mind.
