The Full Darkness Of The Heart

Chapter 1

"Are you sure we have everything?" I asked
"Yes, I am stop worring babe" James replied
"I am sure we have forgotten something"
"We have looked through everything a million times, the first aid kit, the maps, a compass and enough bug spray to last a life time" James explained, I looked at him and sighed and began to rifle through again.
"Come on babe, don"t worry" James smiled at me.
"I.m sorry, it's just I have read all about camping trips that go wrong" I said
"Well this one won't" James told me as he hugged me.
"I hope not" I replied
I put the last things on my list into my bag and somehow closed the lid I looked over at James he was so exited about this as it was his idea, we had been togther three years and he loved me with all his heart.
Me on the other hand, well I was ready to move on.
"All we have to do now is wait for the others" I said
"They should be here soon" James replied pulling me close and kissing my cheek.

"Come on Louise otherwise we will be late!" Dan called
"Alright! Alright!" Louise called back, stepping out of the shower and blowing Dan a kiss.
"James and Katie will be waiting, you know how long James had planned this" Dan reminded Louise
"Yes I know, I just feel we are inturding" Lousie replied.
"Course we are not, James wants us to be there, you know that"
"Is Max coming?" Louise asked
"You know Max, he will already be at James and Katie's, he likes to get everywhere first. We really should get moving" Dan said, trying to hurry Louise.
"I am nearly ready, hun" Louise replied
Dan rolled his eyes, she had been saying that for the last hour, why did she take so long?
Dan started loading thw cases into the car and started it, where was Louise,
"Louise come on!" Dan shouted
"I.m coming!" Louise called as she walked out the door and slammed it behind her.

"Where are they?" I asked worried
"They will be here soon" James replied
I was standing by the front window watching for the cars of either Dan and Louise or Max.
"Sit down and relax" James told me.
I started to turn from the window when a red Porsche Carrera Gt pulled into our forecourt, I knew it was Max.
"Open the door hun, it's Max" I told James
"Hi there! Hope I am not to early" Max said as he came in.
"No of course not, we are just waiting for Dan and Lousie as usual" I said walking over to Max and kissing his cheaks.
"Hope they are not to long, I want to get going' James said
"Finaly" Max said as Dan's blue Vw Golf Gti pulled up outside, it felt like we had been waiting for ages.
"Hi, sorry we are late" Dan said, as he came in
"No worries" I replied
"Hi hon" Louise said, to me
"You took a long time"
"Don't you start to" Louise snapped at me.
"Oh, well excuse me" I said, as I walked off and plonked myself in a chair.
"Now, now ladies none of that" Max said
"Sorry, Katie I did not mean to be so rude, it's just that Dan here thinks I take a long time to get ready' Louise explained
"Well no offense but you do take a while" I replied, being polite as possible.
"Well I suppose, anyway I am sorry for holding everyone up"
"Hay,  no worries" James said, giving her a smile.
"Come on let's go before it gets dark" Max said
"I agree" James replied
I rolled my eyes and got up out of my chair.
"Katie, I really am sorry" Louise sounded upset.
"Oh Lou, it's ok you are here and that is all that matters" I said linking arm in arm with her and heading out after the boys.
"Ok the Black Mountains and the forest are a good couple of hours drive, and the camp site is another hour in the forest itself" Max told us.
We all jumped into our seperate cars Max led the way in his Porsche, Dan was next in the Vw Golf, myself and James in our gold Aldi Rs4.
"Cheer up babe, this is going to be great" James said, patting my leg.
"I hope so" I replied with a smile.
We followed Max and Dan down long dark roads twisting and turning roads that got smaller and smaller, we slowes to a crawl the mountains were just off in the distance the ride was long and slow but finaly we turned and went off road.
"Does Max know where he is going?" I asked worried, we had been going deeper and deeper into the forest and the mountains loomed above us.
"I am sure he does" James replied
It wassl dark outside now, with no lights to guide our way, Max and Dan signaled and pulled over to stop so did we.
"Ok, now we walk" Max told us
We grabbed our bags and back packs and followed Max into the dark, James squessed my hand I could tell he was exited. It felt good to streach my legs after the long jouney in the car, we walked quite some way before Max stopped.
"Right here we are" Max said
We enterd a clearing, surrounded by huge trees with a blanket of stars up above, this is where we would be camping.
