Chapter 17

Hawk barely knew what had happened, the man had fired the gun and bullet came for him, he blinked but in that blink something happend he was pushed out of the way, his whole body shook the bullet made contact just not with him but with her, as she began to fall he caught her and looked at the man he had gone pale.
"Hold on" he told her, as he gently lay her down
"No" the man wisperd turning pale
"Now you die" Hawk said, glaring at the man, he ran, Hawk ran after him, the man stumbeld and panted, then tripped fell over. Hawk missed him by inches, the man stumbeld on puffing, fell again this time Hawk was ready.
Hawk picked the man up by his shirt colar and held him above the ground.
"Please I did'nt mean to" James stammerd
"You were going to kill me" Hawk growled
"Yes, but not her, not her"
"Your pathetic"
"Yes, I am let me go"
Hawk did, the man landed with a thump on the ground and was crying Hawk shook his head, this man was not worth his time.
"You know that she will be mine in time" James threatend
"Never!" Hawk spat back
The man laughed and came at him with a small knife, Hawk easily stepped out of his path.
"You don't deserve someone like her" James said, charging again
Hawk caught him, and wrestled the knife from his hand, he cut him and the man let out a small scream.
"You will never harm her again" Hawk said, as he slid the knife into the man's heart, he let out one last scream and was gone, Hawk stood over his kill and then raced back to where he had left Katie.
She was pale and breathing heavily her eyes were closed, he knelt down and took her hand, her eyes flickerd open.
"Why Katie, why?" Hawk asked
"I told you, that I would pay yoi back somehow" I replied my voice croaking
"Not like this"
"It's ok, I am not afaid"
"Don't leave me"
"It's my time, you have already saved my life so many times" I said, my voice weaker
"I love you Katie, I want to be with you always" Hawk said, gazing into my eyes, he lent forward and kissed my forehead
"I love you, Hawk" I said, my breathing laboard and heavy, I knew it was time to say goodbye.
"I think we could of been togther, it's strange but true, I have been waiting for the right man. When it was not a man I was waiting for it was you, I love you" I said, stopping I could not see, I blinked to clear my vision with no luck.
"Kat, do you trust me?" Hawk asked
"Yes" I wisperd
"Let me save you"
"You already did" I smiled
"I can give you life forever, if you trust me"
"I don't understand"
"I have power, Katie as a chief I can choose one mate, one person to be with forever, Kat I want that to be you" Hawk explianed
"Hawk no, I can't see" I stuggled to talk Hawk lifted me into his arms and held me, kissed my cheek.
"You must trust me, I would have to bite you in order to save you" Hawk pulled me close.
"I would change?" I asked
"After you had taken my blood yes, it is painful and some do not survive but I love you, and our love is strong, please" Hawk said, his tears dripped on to my face, I could barely see him, but I wanted him so much, I slowly nodded my head.
I felt his hot breath on my neck, and I shiverd, a tingling sensation took hold of me, he kissed my neck making it soft then I felt his teeth sinking into the flesh, I let out a small shreak and felt his hand grasp mine, it was intense and painful like poker's in my neck, I shreaked again but the sensation soon left me as he pulled away. I could see his eyes sparkel as he pulled out a small knife, and made a small cut in his wrist his bloof flowed from the cut.
"Drink" Hawk wisperd.
He placed his wrist next to my mouth the blood dripped onto my lips and I slowly opend my mouth, he brought his wrist closer the blood flowed in, and I drank deeply, slowly he took hid wrist away and I felt intense pain and I screamed.
"Your body will die, Katie my blood will change your heart, you must become one with the darkness" Hawk said
I could feel the warmth of his blood flow round my body, and to my heart it was changing from light and pure to black and dark.
I screamed again, it was like nothing I had ever felt before the darkness took hold and filled me, I was loosing myself to it.
"Help me" I said
"I can't you must embrace the darkness let it fill you up" Hawk said, gipping my hand.
My heart was filling with darkness as was my mind, I must not lose myself I strugled to hold on but I passed out and the battle began.
