The Aston Martin purred as we raced to the Black mountains.
The city now far behind us, and the scenery flashed by, we had hardly said a word, I was to busy trying to ajust, thinking of my friends how would I react when we were back at the camp the last place I had seen them all alive.
"Katie, are you alright?" Hawk asked
"Yes, just thinking" I replied
"About what?"
"Everything, my friends, my past, you"
"About me?"
"Yes, I was thinking how lucky I was to have met you, and how much, I love you" I said, looking over at him.
He smiled and reached over with his left hand tracing down my right cheek, then placed it on my right leg and playfully rubbed my inner thigh, I sighed and closed my eyes it was heaven to be touched by him.
"My touch, exites you?" Hawk asked
"Yes, and you know it does" I replied with a giggle, in the corner of my eye I saw him nod and smirk, we were now at the forest raceing down the dark and twisting lanes, Hawk puled over and stopped looking at me.
"You don't have to do this" Hawk said
"Yes, I do. I have to begin a new life so I must say goodbye to my old one" I replied looking him in the eye.
He looked at me studying me and nodded he got out of the car, quicker than I could blink he was at my door holding it open for me, I took a deep breath and got out. Hawk took my hand as we walked to the camp it was still a huge mess, Hawk was right anyone who found this would ask questions.
"We must burn it, and scatter the ashes, then we must go to the cave" Hawk said
"The cave why?" I asked
"I must make sure, no vampires survived"
"My car?"
"Will need to be taken away, as will the others"
My poor car, I loved that car, I sighed I really was saying goodbye to my old life, Hawk had made a pile of stuff the middle of the clearing, I headed over to what had been my tent and started taking things over.
As I placed my things onto the pile I was remembering small details of my life trying to lock it into my memory, my lucky pack was missing the last place I had it was in the cave, perhaps I could save it. Finally all my things even the tent joined the pile, Hawk had taken care of the others. He looked at me and I nodded he took a small box of matches, lit one and flicked it on to the pile, it went up in a blaze crackling and popping. Hawk came closer to me and wrapped his arms around me, I cried silent tears for my friends he kissed my cheek.
"Come we must go" Hawk said
I slowly turned my back on the blaze and we headed towards Dead mans cave.
