Chaper 10

He brought his other hand up to lips and made a shh with his long finger, I nodded
he realeased his hand. He seemed to be study me, his eyes travelled up and down my body and then he staired at me, I staired back but had to back down and look away.
"Come with me" he said, in a commanding voice, he slowly turned away my eyes looked over to Louise once more then I too turned away, I followed the vampire. He lead me through a maze of tunnels and chambers, I bearly managed to keep up, I had no idea where he was taking me, then I could smell something the air was no longer musty it was cold and sweet, it was fresh air from outside the cave.
I looked just in front of my strange guide, I could see moonlight it was coming from a small opening he had lead me out. He climed out with such speed and grace I almost missed it, he turned around and gave me his hand it was warmto touch, he pulled me up, then walked off, I saw that we were outside it was dark I had been underground all day.
"Warm your self, you must be cold" he said, in a warm silky voice.
He had lit a smalk fire and was sat beside it the flames lit his features, he was easily 6ft, very muscular his skin was bronzed and golden, his face was handsom he was sexy not to mention dangrous, I stood away from him nervous but he was quite relaxed.
"I won't harm you" he said, in that silky voice
It sent a shiver down my spine, I slowly went to the fire and warmed my hands, I took of my pack and allowed myself to relax slightly, I took a deep breath.
"No offense but you are a vampire right?" I asked
"Yes" he replied with a nod
"Then why did you not, take me to those other vampires?"
"I am not like them, they are not welcome here" his voice became darker and had a hint of anger
"You saved my life, Thank you" I said, with a small smile
"You should rest"
"How can I, after everything I have just seen and you might decide to kill me, vampire" I said angry
"My name is Hawk" he told me
"Hawk, that is a strange name"
"My head vampire once told me I have eyes like a hawk, I saved his life once and the name stuck.
You have not told me your name"
"My name is La... I mean Katie, Star" I stammerd, almost telling him my true name
"It is a fine name, for a beautiful woman"
"Thank you, what will happen to my friends?"
"They will become vampires" Hawk replied with a srug of his shoulders
"Even the young woman?"
"Yes eventually"
"Can anything be done?"
"No"
"I can't leave her, Louise is my best friend" I said tears rolling down my face
"I am sorry, there is nothing that can be done"
"I am not leaving her" I said, being stubborn
"You are very loyal to your friend, but you should rest, you have been through much"
"I don't think, I can"
"I will watch over you, nothing can harm you"
"You won't harm me?"
"No" Hawk's eyes looked into mine, I knew he was telling the truth this vampire would not harm me.
"Thank you, again" I smiled
"Your welcome" Hawk said, smiling back it was a warm smile that lit up his whole face he was so sexy, I shook my head what was I thinking?
He was a vampire, I laid down close to the fire but still I shiverd.
"Here take this" Hawk said, taking off his long coat and laying it on top of me, I nodded the coat was thick and warn it had his smell it was very masculine, it made my heart race.
"What about you?" I asked
"I have no need rest Katie" Hawk replied
"Will you stay?"
"Do you want me to?"
"Yes" I replied, he made me feel safe
"Then I will" Hawk said, with a smile
I closed my eyes, this was mad here I was with the most sexist man, I had ever met and he was a vampire talk about bad luck. I soon dozed off, with the warmth of the fire and Hawks coat.
A strange noise woke me, it was still dark and the moon was shining bright in the sky.
I sat up Hawk was gone, I got to my feet and pulled his coat around me careful not to make a sound, I walked a little way, I could see a figure on the ground and one beside it, when I was closer I could see it was Hawk he was bending over a deer, he was drinking its blood. I gasped, and he turned, he looked right at me his eyes burning into mine, I ran back to the small fire and my back pack quicker than a heart beat Hawk appeard in front of me, I stood at stock stilk and was breathing heavily.
"I am sorry, you had to see that" Hawk said, staring
"You killed it" I said, panting
"Yes, I need blood to survive"
"So you killed that deer"
"Yes, or would you rather me drink your blood, it sings to me and the others"
"No, I would not, you have some blood on your cheek" I walked over to him, with the coat sleave I carefuly wiped it off.
"Thanks"
"No problem" I said, I wonderd what he meant by my blood singing, to him.
"Why are you here anyway?"
"I have been sent to destroy the other vampires"
"How?"
"I must kill the one who made them their Chief"
"You kill him, the rest die?"
"Yes, thats right"
"I want to help"
'No"
"They have my friends, I want to help"
"I understand, but no"
"I am coming with you" I said, staring at him and standing as tall, as my height would allow, Hawk reached out with a hand and traced a finger down my right cheek.
"You are stuborn and brave, you are also very young"
"I don't care, I am coming so tell me what you plan to do"
He took my hand and pulled mr to the fire, he had a pack he pulled it open inside were bullets all shiny with sharp points on them.
"Are those silver?" I asked
"Yes a garenteed vampire killer"
"Your a vampire?"
"Yes, small amounts do not harm me"
"Is this all you have?"
"Well I do have garlic, there is always the sun, I do have my personal weapons" Hawk pulled out two smalk knifes and two guns, I nodded this vamp had taste, I pulled the gun from my pack, his eyes opended wider.
"Got any bullets for this?" I asked
"Yes I think I do. Are you sure about this?" Hawk looked at me, and my heart raced this was crazy, I was very attracted to him, I took a deep breath.
"Yes"
"It will be light soon, I must get some where dark" Hawk said
He was looking at the horizon it was changing colour the sun was on its way.
"Back to the cave, I suppose" I said
I pulled his coat off and grabbed my pack, I looked at Hawk he to had his pack, I handed him, his coat he folded it into his pack, his t-shirt was light cream and tight.
"Shall we tie on?" I asked
"Can you keep up?" Hawk asked
"I can try"
I walked over and clipped myself to him, I was in his hands now, he pulled me into him and then his lips met mine and his lips were hot and warm, we parted he smiled and we set off back into the cave.
