Lucy's P.O.V.

My eyes snapped to the door. It's been half hour since Justin left me alone and I was calmer now. No one has come up to my room until now.

"Lucy, can I talk to you honey?" my mum's soft voice was heard from outside my door. I sighed, honestly I don't think I'm ready to 'talk'.

"How are you feeling?" she slowly opened the door and walked inside, her steps slow and sure.

"I don't know..."

The spot next to me on the bed sink down as she sat, her hand immediately finding my back. Her touch relaxed me. I closed my eyes, pictures of my dad spinning around. I was disappointed, I was hurt but most of all, I was heartbroken.

"Your dad is downstairs, waiting for you..." she whispered, her voice so gentle and soft. I could tell she was picking out her words, probably didn't want me to snap at her.

"Why haven't you kicked him out yet?" I asked. Although I was really mad, it didn't came out like that. It was more like a desperate question.

She bit down on her lip. "He wants to talk to you."

"Well I don't want to" I quickly stood up, getting out of her grip and crossing my arms in front of my chest, my back facing her.

"Is that why you searched for him? Behind my back? All this time?" her voice raised.

I turned around and locked my eyes with her. I could see the hot tears threatening to fall. She was hurt.

"Mum, I never meant to hurt you" I quickly bent in front of her, putting my hands on her knees. "I just wanted answers..." I tried explaining myself.

She looked away. "I know and I shouldn't be mad at you. It should be the other way around. I just thought you were happy with me and you have forgotten about your dad..." she stared down, my heart breaking in two at the sight of her.

"It's hard to grow up with one parent but you did a great job it's just... you can't forget someone as important as your dad"

She nodded, her hands holding mine as she tried to give me a small smile. "I know you've kept things from me, like knowing where my dad was this whole time" I gave her a look.

"Lucy I was just-"

"I know you went to the hospital when he had a heart attack" I continue on with my rant, standing up.

"Did you even know he has another family? And two sons? Did you even give him a divorce?" I snapped, my eyes darkening.

She stood up, slowly making her way to me. "I knew, I knew all along"

"Then why? Why didn't you tell me? And why did he leave us?" I asked, sorrow taking over my soul as my eyes started burning me. This was all too much.

"Why don't you go downstairs and talk to him, huh? Let him explain..." she rubbed soothingly up and down my arm.

"Why.did.he.leave.us?" I asked again. I was dieing inside to know. "Did I do something wrong? I swear it was not my intention, I was only eight I didn't know what I was doing or saying I was just-"

"You did nothing wrong Lucy" my dad's deep voice stopped my rant. I turned around shocked to see him standing at my door frame. His eyes staring back at mine.

How could you? I wanted to scream at him, go up to him and punch him but I didn't do anything.

"I'll leave you two alone" my mother's voice was faint as she exited the room, my dad now stepping in farther.
