After singing a couple of songs for the night in the gig, Parry, Darren and I decided to stay for a while in the bar. Waiting for the manager to give us our pay, we resolved on the idea of grabbing in some drinks, despite being underage. Being a performer in a bar, you can get the perks, including free drinks.
"You really blew it," Darren complimented at me and Parry. "I mean, who else could perfect the song of Fifth Harmony and 5SOS's party songs?!"
I laughed. "We do," I said, talking about me and Parry, "Oh, and you. Considering the powerful timbre of your voice, of course you can do it too."
"Well, that's flattering." He laughed as he took the coloured light-liquor in front of him. He cleared his throat, probably getting rid of the tough sting sensation that liquor gives. "By the way," he said in his hoarse voice, "What do you plan on graduation?"
"I don't know." I shrugged. "But I have to sing in a wedding three weeks before the graduation because my mother pointed me to her friend." I told him. "Do you want to come? It's a beach wedding, anyway."
"Sure," he said. "What do you want for Graduation then?" he asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked. Coz definitely, all I want for Graduation is at least make the freaking ceremony short so it won't be so boring.
He turned a little pink but managed to smile at me. "I meant what gift you want for Graduation." He paraphrased.
"Is that necessary?" Parry asked. "Coz I definitely have nothing to give for you and Darren." She told me. "Is giving gifts to friends in graduation important?"
"For me," Darren said. "So? What do you want?"
I shrugged with my shoulders. I mean, I was never really a seeker for gifts. I don't really ask for something intentionally. Gifts aren't one of the most important things for me coz it's just like giving up some matter of material objects to someone. "Well... I don't know. I think I'll leave it hanging on you, then."
"I thought you'd say that. Okay," Darren smiled. "I'll go think of something good to give you." he said.
I smiled. "So, do you want something stronger than that?" I asked him, pointing on the liquor in the small shot glass in front of him. "Coz we're definitely switching on something stronger." I told him. "Do you want to stick with the light ones?"
He shook his head. "I think I should get some of what you'll have."
"You're being as adventurous," I complimented him and he just smiled.
Okay, so we may have a lot of commons, but Darren and I also have differences. This is exactly one of it. Darren is such a goody while I'm not. I mean, look. I'm drinking even if I am underage and I'm kind of influencing my best friend into it. So in short words, I'm the badass and Darren's the otherwise.
"Well, I think I like your ways." He shrugged, downing the last bit of the light liquor he have in glass. "What are you going to take, anyway?"
"Tequila," I sneered at him. "That one's strong, it would take you."
"Don't we have school tomorrow?" he asked. "Won't you get a hang over from that?"
I told you he's such a goody. "Nothing's wrong with shots." I told him. "We're not downing the complete bottle, Darren. We're just going to take it by shots."
After debating with Darren, he finally agreed of drinking some Tequila for the night. The three of us just chatted and went to the topic of our dream college which were all the same.
The three of us took an early exam in one of the music colleges in London. They said London has a pile of good music colleges and since we all loved singing, London became our target for college. Until now, we're waiting for the call of the college or probably a letter from them since that's how colleges confirm your enrolment and everything.
Out of the blue, our Tequilas were served together with the salt and lemons. We were all to bring with, with the topic of our colleges that we were also drinking throughout the conversation. Darren, being the innocent in liquors that he is, downed the tall shot glass of tequila bottoms up. I winced at that.
"Darren!" I exclaimed. "You dummy! You're supposed to lick some salt before downing the alcohol and suck on some lemon!" I told him. "You're so stupid, now look at you! You're drunk in just one shot!"
"Shoot, should we go?" Parry asked as she also saw Darren's situation that is probably now floating because of too much Tequila that he just downed. I nodded at her and she smiled at me, "I'll go get your pack. You wait for me here."
"Hey, who are you?" Darren's drunk-self asked. "Why are your arms around me?"
"Coz you freaking downed a tall shot glass of Tequila without the help of salt and lemon, you dummy," I answered him. If he just doesn't mean that lot to me, I might as well leave him alone in here. But then, he weighed a lot in my life, so I just cannot let that happen. Shit, I'm talking cliché.
"I got your pack and our pay," Parry said as she gave me my pack and my part of the pay. "And I'm sorry, Nicole. But I cannot help you up with Darren coz my mom just called and she wants me to get back home for some sort of a late movie marathon with my cousin." She explained.
I shrugged. "Fine for me." I told her. "I can manage Darren. And now, we should really go coz he might throw up and I don't want to see anything from his dinner to make reappearance."
So we walked through the walkways in a middle of the night with a drunken man in our arms. I was left alone when Parry got to her house and I still have to put Darren to his room since their house is empty. Curse this, why can't they cancel whatever the f they have for tonight so they could take care of him instead of me? I cursed in my mind.
Being the best friend that I am, I took my own duplicate of their house from my pack to open the door. Once in, I went straight to Darren's room, which was a struggle to get in since he's so heavy and I have to drag him upstairs. I opened his door and planted him on the bed. I took the obligation to wash his face with a towel with cool water to fresh him up.
After doing that, I went to his closet to take some of the thin fabric shirts that he has. "Okay," I inhaled and exhaled. "I'm doing this to clean him up, not to be a chance seeking pervert who wants to see Darren shirtless, and so help me." I mumbled to myself. I lowered myself to Darren to grab the hem of his shirt, taking the piece of clothing off of him.
"Well, I take it back..." I whispered. Okay, so I am a pervert right now. Instead of slipping the shirt on him, I kind of uh... looked at his upper body for some couple of minutes. I mean, it took all of my self control not to look at him half naked, but hell, it's so hard. I stared at his body for a while, admiring every curve on it. I shook my head. "Time's up." I ran a hand through my hair and slipped the shirt on Darren.
I took off his shoes and socks and threw them at the side of the room. Okay, if it took all of my self control not to look at Darren's upper body, I should try harder on his middle one. "I should just leave the pants on." I decided coz I might not make it if I would take that one off of him.
"Hey," Darren mumbled as he noticed me beside him. His breath was fanning my face, the aroma of the tequila lingering as he breathed. "You're so pretty." He slurred and I found myself laughing and blushing at how cute Darren is when he's drunk. "Can I kiss you?"
"What the hell are you talking about-" I was cut off mid sentence when Darren leaned in closer and planted a soft, chaste kiss on my lips before collapsing back to the bed, falling completely asleep after kissing me.
I touched my lips in disbelief. Damn. I was kissed by DarrenLyndonGonzales freaking Espanto!
