It's been three days since Darren and I had our first date as an official couple, but I can still feel every butterfly that roamed in my tummy that night.

Still staring at Darren and mine's selfie on my phone from the night of our date, I managed to walk to the flower farm of my auntie and read the book I brought with me. But my plan was spoiled with JK greeting me with his teasing smirk. God, just the sight of his smirk reminds me of a sick rapist. He should be thankful that he had gotten a sick load of good looks or else I might as well hit him with the nearest shovel for early self defence.

"So," he started but even before he can form a proper sentence, I raised my hand in front of his face.

"If you're going to tease me around, stop." I told him, my hand still in front of his face. "Coz I would like to read JaneEyre in peace, because ChalotteBrontë earned my permanent respect. So please, JK,"

His small eyes widened. "Whoa, whoa," he chuckled as he offered me a seat and even if I was getting all weird out with his actions, I took a sit on the chair and opened the bottle of Mountain Dew I have with me. "Don't go all Literature to me. I wasn't going to tease you, Nicole,"

I rolled my eyes. "Your smirk is enough to tease the living shit out of me." I said.

"Wow, too much for the girl who have asked me to be her friend." He chimed. Wow, well I never knew that offering a friendship can also be used as blackmail or some sort of thing close to that.

"Whatever, again," I said as I took a sip from the soda and opened the book to start reading, "Anyway, if you aren't going to tease me, what is this for?"

"You mentioned before that you do gigs, right?" he asked me with a smile as he also took a seat on the chair across from mine and removed the gardening gloves he has on his both hands. I nodded at his question before he carried on. "I would like to offer you something?" he said, but it came out more of a question.

I nodded as he spoke, closing my copy of Jane Eyre and decided that I should focus on whatever JK is telling me. "Okay, well, go ahead, tell me." I told him since he stopped a little longer, leaving me into a cliff hanger feeling.

He smiled. I felt a little more comfortable since the shift of his expression was real. It was a smile, not a smirk, alleluia. "Well, remember what I told you about my uncle?" I nodded at his question. "Okay, so his bar was definitely looking for some singer; a regular singer,"

My eyes widened a little bit and my brain seemed to be defying the idea of processing whatever I am hearing from JK. "So, are you like—"

"Yes, I would like to offer you some sort of a job, in my uncle's bar and all," he said, still wearing the smile he had plastered on his face. "So, are you going to accept it or something?"

"Of course I would accept it!" I told him. "I've been hunting some decent bars or clubs in here to sing in to, and now that that bar is the thing that approached me on its own, I wouldn't let it pass!" I technically exclaimed. The book and the soda I've got with me now long forgotten as JK's offer took my attention.

He smiled once again, wider this time. "Cool, I finally found a partner." He said. Now his smile was no longer a smile, it was a cheeky grin. Okay, well there is a difference with it, I know.

"I'm going to sing with you?" I asked him.

JK nodded. "Yeah," he grinned but it soon faded as a fake frown sufficed his looks. "Hey, what's with that face?"

"I never sing with anyone besides my best friend back in Canada." I admitted, feeling a little longing for Parry's quirky attitudes' presence beside me.

"So?" he asked, raising an eyebrow to me. "Is it wrong that you would sing with someone else now? Me, in particular." he asked and I just narrowed my eyes to him. "Hey, only a few lucky girls get to sing with JuanKarlosLabajo, don't be choosy."

I rolled my eyes at him, having my interest to the book back again since JK's teasing side is on. "I'm not being choosy. I'm sharing that fact that I miss my girl best friend back in Canada, is all."

It was his turn to roll his eyes to me again. "Fine," he said. "Anyway, first gig would be tonight, better prepare your voice and a small list of songs for us to sing." He basically commanded.

"Sure," I told him. "How do you feel about having some pop?"

"You mean bands and all?"

"Exactly," I told him, "I usually sing 1D, Fifth Harmony and a very few of Lady Gaga," I said and he laughed loudly. "Okay, fine, I have a weird taste in music, I get it!" I exclaimed, practically knowing what he is laughing at.

"Yeah, you do have a bad taste in music and songs coz you have Lady Gaga in it!" He said in between chuckles. "I could have accepted it if it was just One Direction and the girl group you're saying. But Lady Gaga? Damn that," He finally stopped and wiped a tear from his eyes, probably from his hard laughing. "Anyway, what ever you want. I mean, I know 1D songs and maybe I could just improvise when you choose to sing other songs out of my knowing radar."

After JK finished his teasing about my music taste and about how I love Lady Gaga, we decided that we should part ways and have some time for our owns. Well, I would say that it was in favour of me coz I don't want to hear any more of his antics about my weird music taste and my small obsession over Lady Gaga. What's wrong of loving Stephanie (Lady Gaga's real first name)? She and her voice together are amazing!

I stepped in the house and looked for either my mother or my auntie. One thing I hate about big houses is that there is a tendency that you might get lost. Another thing I hate is that TitaMadelle has been forcing us to get in the Philippines but she's usually busy to accommodate us or something.

With a sigh of relief, I approached my mother by her study. "Hey, mom," I called as I took a seat just in front of her desk. "I would like to ask permission to you, since I believe that you would like it more if I ask one."

She looked up to me, her eyeglasses clad eyes narrowing at me. "What is it, sweetie?"

I leaned closer to her. "I found out that there is a small bar in this place," I said, "And there is a friend of mine, JK, who asked me if I could sing with him in that bar this night." I paused as I studied her face. "So, can I go?"

She smiled. "No problem," she answered.

"Another thing," I said, leaning on the chair and but remained looking at my mother. Would it be creepy if I tell that I almost have the same face as my mother's and my auntie? Yes, that would be extremely creepy.

"What is it?"

"I might as well stay there a little late," I told her. "I'll be with either my boyfriend or with Karlos, anyway."

She just smiled at me again. What is wrong with people who seemed to never get tired of smiling? "Make sure one of them drives you home." I nodded but then she spoke. "Oh no," she spoke, "Maybe I should just speak to Darren. Just to be sure,"

I rolled my eyes playfully. "That's such a good way of being an over protective mother," I stated and my mother just laughed at me and rolled her own eyes before focusing on the papers she has.

I thanked my mother for being awesome then exited the room then went to my own room and started to hunt for something good to wear for the night. A shiver made its way to my whole body, a feeling that only night gigs can provide.
