Don't Tell Anyone

Thirteen

The dreaded day has finally came. Misaki thought she was going to wet herself. Her thoughts were all over the place instead of where there were supposed to be. The cool, calm, collected girl was already somewhere far far away.

When Misaki said yes to Miwa the day before, he was the happiest she had ever seen him. That made her guiltier than before. Miwa deserved someone who liked him back and Misaki just couldn't return those feelings.

Misaki took a deep breath and started getting ready. She wore her casual attire. She didn't want him to think she actually liked him back. When she was done, she got a call from Asaka.

"Sooo... How's it going?" Asaka asked.

"I'm still in my room." Misaki said flatly.

"Isn't he picking you up at 2?"

"It's one fifty three."

"Yeah, well. Close enough. I'm just reminding you not to screw up."

"This date is screwed up the minute Miwa thought of it." Misaki sighed. "I'm going down now. Hopefully he doesn't plan anything fancy."

"You're going on a date with Miwa. You're hoping too much. Of course it'll be fancy."

"Can I ditch right now?" 

"No. Get your ass down your apartment. Good luck!" Asaka ended the call.

Misaki sighed for what seemed like the thirteenth time in that day and went downstairs. It wasn't surprising that Miwa was already there waiting for her.

Miwa brought her to the cinema, watched a movie, went to a cute library cafe and spent their entire afternoon there. She kept reading the book in her hands, trying her best to ignore Miwa.

Miwa could sense her discomfort and tried to keep all conversation to himself.

When Misaki finished her book, the both of them left awkwardly, maintaining a distance as they walked.

"This whole day has been kind of awkward for you, ne? I'm sorry." Miwa stuttered apologetically, using his hand to rub the back of his neck. 

Misaki thought hard about what to say. Saying 'It's fine' would have been weird. "I'm sorry for not being able to return your feelings." She said instead.

"I'm going to go buy a drink, is it okay if you wait here for a while?" He asked.

"Yeah, sure."

Miwa smiled in a bashful manner and ran away.

 Misaki let out a sigh that she had been holding in for the entire day. She rubbed her temples with her thumbs and leaned on the railing.

"Tokura?"

Misaki turned towards her right, where Kai was standing and a her heart did a little leap after seeing him. Her heart started beating wildly, most probably afraid that he might find out about her and Miwa.

"Kai? Uh, what are you doing here?"

"I'm just passing by, are you waiting for someone?"

"Uh, yeah. I guess."

That reply spiked Kai's curiosity and his mind immediately thought of his blond friend. "Is it Miwa?"

Misaki was surprised that he figured it out so easily. "Yeah."

"Are you two on a date?"

"Please don't tell anyone." She almost begged. Her hands were put together and her head was bowed down.

Kai smirked as a thought came into his mind. "On one condition."

"What condition?"

Kai took three steps closer to Misaki, his chin brushing the hair at the side of her head. "Be mine and only mine."

"W-what do you mean?"

"Exactly what you think it means."

Misaki wanted to question him some more, but thinking about how close Kai is standing, and how Miwa could show up any second. If he shows up in their position right now, things could get really ugly between the two friends.

"Deal, just don't tell anyone." She said desperately.

"Deal, girlfriend." He kissed her on the lips and left.

That act had her coming to her senses. She became Kai's girlfriend. Kai's girlfriend. It was something she had never thought of. Yes, she admired Kai, but how did this happen?

Miwa was walking towards her and after that her mind was a daze.

How could going on a date with Miwa end up with being Kai's girlfriend?

I apologize for the really really really really slow update. I've been kind of depressed lately but I'm back!! I might be able to finish off this fanfic by this week so I'm sure you guys are happy. There will be at least three or four parts until the end. So please be patient with me...
