Twenty One

"Here, that would be six hundred yen." Asaka announced, waving the plastic bag in front of Kai.

Kai awkwardly reached for his wallet in his pocket on his left with his right hand. His left arm was numb from Misaki's weight. He gave Asaka his wallet and she took exactly six hundred, even counting the money in front of him.

"Where's Ren?" He asked after noticing the absence of the redhead.

Asaka shrugged and took a seat. "He disappeared when I stepped into the bookshop."

Kai looked at her quizzically. "You're becoming quite careless of him, aren't you?"

Asaka shrugged again. "I'll look for him later. First, tell me why did you approach her like that?" She rested her chin on her palms, completely interested in hearing the story from his side.

"I'm not going to answer that." Kai stated with a hint of pink in his cheeks.

"Awww come on. I'm dying to know." Asaka pouted.

"No."

Asaka tsked in disappointment. Her phone rang right after. She checked the caller ID. It was Ren.

"Asakaaaa where are you?"

"I'm at the restaurant, with Kai and Misaki."

Asaka could hear lots of chattering and noise, probably even some screaming from the other end of the line. She could barely hear what he said next.

"I.NEED.A.LITTLE.HELP.HERE" He screamed. Asaka had to pull her phone away from her ear. She already knew what was happening.

Ren was surrounded by girls.

"I'll be right there." She assured before hanging up.

Don't get him wrong, Ren loved paparazzi. Girls, well, that was another thing.

Kai looked at Asaka with an arched eyebrow, asking his question.

"Girl trouble."

"He sounds like he's dying."

Asaka out her hands on the table and pushed herself up. "Looks like I have to go save the day. You," she pointed a finger at him, "are lucky this time."

And she ran off, leaving Kai with a sleeping Misaki again. This time, with an unwritten confession letter.
