Baby

I cry out in pain feeling the pain Nik was feeling. I can't believe they would do this to us. I struggle against the witches trying to get away. I scream trying to get someone to hear me.

"Get her down on the floor!" I hear Genevieve says and then Monique

"We should take her to the City of the Dead." Monique says and I growl.

"We won't make it, the baby is coming now." Genevieve says and I scream.

"No! It's too soon! Ahhhhhh!" I scream again.

"Apparently not." Genevieve says.

"The plan was to induce her when the sacrifice was ready!" Monique says and I groan in pain not only from the pain of my pregnancy.

"I had to subdue her, and the trauma caused a placental abruption. So, the baby is coming, and we'll just have to adapt." Genevieve exclaims and I growl once again fighting against the witches who held me down."AHHH! LET ME GO!" I scream still trying to get someone's attention.

"You need to be calm, Artemis." Genevieve tries to calm me down and I growl at her.

"Why are you doing this to me?" I ask and Monique smiles.

"To be reborn, you must sacrifice." Monique tells me and I push her hand away with a louder growl.

"What does that mean, you psychotic little BITCH?" I scream at her and Genevieve answers.

"The ancestors demand an offering in exchange for power." Genevieve tells me and Monique continues to smile widely.

"You and your child will be a fine offering." Monique says and I growl."

You can't kill me unless I lose my vampire side." I smirk but it soon turns into fright looking at her face."No! NO! You will not take my baby, I will kill ALL OF YOU!"

"No, you won't! And neither will Klaus, or Elijah! When your baby is born, you will offer her up to those who came before us." Monique says and I cry shaking my head. I continue to struggle against the witches.

"I'm sorry, Artemis, but this is the way it had to be." Genevieve says and I scream in sadness and pain from Nik.

"No! NO! NO! AAH! AAH!" I scream and I hear the sound of the familiar roar of anger from the one person I love the most. "Nik." I scream.

I see Nik in the corner of my eye and I am happy to see him. He lunges at them ripping one of their heads off before getting pinned against the wall. I scream along with him as we both try to get away. I scream seeing that Genevieve had the knife they used for the harvest in hand. They put a sheet over my bottom half and cry. I ignore Genevieve as I look at Nik.

"If I die, just know I love you Nik." I tell him in his head and he looks at me with sadness clear in his eyes. I am still in labor and I scream in agony.

"I will bring hell to your family!" Nik shouts and I scream in pain.

"One last push! Push! The baby's almost here!" Genevieve tells me and I cry.

"I will bathe in rivers of your blood!" He shouts at her again.

"No! No!" I yell and Monique screams.

"I can see the baby!" Monique yells and I cry in pain.

"Push! Gently! Gently! " Genevieve assists me.

"You will die screaming!" Nik yells and I fall backwards in exhaustion. I stop screaming along with Nik looking at the baby. One of the witches cuts the umbilical cord and Genevieve carefully wraps the baby in the blanket.

"You have a beautiful baby daughter." Genevieve tells us and we stare in shock. "We must start the sacrifice as soon as the moon sets with the morning sky--" I begin to scream in pain again. She begins to work again helping me bring a baby boy to this world.

" --Please. Please, can I hold them?" I ask her and surprisingly Genevieve hands me them. I look up at Nik with a smile before kissing their heads. SUddenly I feel my head be pulled back and a knife slide against my throat. I gasp in pain.

"NOOOOOO!" Nik screams and I fall backwards staring as the witches grab the babies leaving. Nik screams again and Monique twists her wrist making him groan in pain. I feel my eyes close as he drops down in front of me.

"I love you too." Is all I hear before everything goes black. Then all of a sudden I see Apollo standing in front of me.

"Apollo." I ask and he smiles sadly at me. I run into his arms giving him a huge hug. We talk for awhile before I awaken with a gasp, all of the images running in my head. They're alive, I need to find them. I stand up with blood all over me and I speed away towards a human draining them, although it doesn't help with my hunger. I follow my instinct towards the cemetery. I watch as Klaus and Elijah are breaking their way through the illusion by destroying the tombs. When they reach a room full of candles, they stop and catch their breath.

"We've passed through here twice already. We're running out of time." Elijah says and he punches through a wall in anger and frustration.

"Then we move faster." Nik says and marks the wall with a third tally using a large rock.

"Or smarter." I say and they freeze turning to see me.

"Artemis."Nik rushes to me putting his hands on my face making sure I was really there.

"How are you here?" Elijah asks and I look at him.

"I woke up in the church. I felt this hunger... I knew what I needed. I can feel her. They're here. I can feel my babies." I tell them and Elijah looks confused before Nik realizes it.

"You died with the baby's blood still in your system. [He turns to Elijah] She's in transition." Nik tells Elijah and I frown at him sighing.

"Which means she has to drink the blood of the child if she is to survive." Elijah says and Nik looks overwhelmed."To be reborn a hybrid, but how you were a hybrid already." Nik asks and I look at him before shaking my head."I don't care about me. I'm gonna go find our son and daughter." I say and walk away with them rushing after me.
