Note: This is the first chapter of a book I am writing for someone, I do not know exactly if I will be posting it on Wattpad as a whole book yet. Mercy is a girl that no one has thought would be something else. She protected her king as much as she could and trained all the time. Mercy couldn't have been what people feared most... A shape-shifter.

My fist whizzed through the air towards the man who stood in front of me. I felt satisfaction as my fist connects to his nose, a crack booming around us. I then proceeded to kneel and slid my foot on the ground catching his leg. He fell down in a heap and I smirked at his groaning body. I brought my foot up and slammed it into his face, making him go unconscious. I turned around pretending to wipe my hands off. I glared at the rest of the trainees and they bowed their heads to me.

Find a partner. I send into their thoughts using mind link. Each of them jumped but sprung into action. They found a partner and I walked around each of them with my hands behind my back. I narrowed my eyes at some and smirked at others before I stopped in front of two men. I watched their movements, too rough. I put my hand on one of the men's shoulders and slammed him into the ground with such grace. I stared at the man in front of me that was in the middle of a move.

Be graceful. Too rough, uncoordinated. I sighed out and began to walk around again. I got to the end where two girls were slapping each other like wimps. I growled loudly making them stop immediately. I swing my fist into one girl's face and kicked the other one in the gut. They groan in pain and glared up at me. I pulled them up by their hair and stared them down.

Less catfight. More fist fight ladies. I let them drop to the ground and I moved to stand by my advisor, the king. He was a gracious leader and a very young one at that. He only looked about 17 years old but he was almost the same age as me, at 1,000 years. Many were born with the gift of being immortal, many were not. King Drakoe was a very built man, trained by me when he was very young. His father was mortal unlike his son and died when he was young. King Drakoe has dark brown hair that was very short. His eyes were what caught most girls eyes but I thought they were the one things that showed who he truly was. They were a deep blue that showed sadness and kindness in them. However, there was much hardness in them as well showing he is not afraid to fight back. He was a tall 6'3 that made my 5'6 height look short.

"How are they doing Mercy?" King Drakoe asked me and I sighed shaking my head. I looked over all of the warriors and they were all failing. "Are they not ready for the Aldnen ceremony?" He asked me and I stared at him with great hate for all of these warriors.

They underestimate me your highness. But that will soon change and they will be ready for the Aldnen ceremony by dawn. I told him before I walked away from him to go and assist the men and women of this army. King Drakoe walked alongside me and we walked around. The men I assisted were getting better at their coordination and grace. I nodded to them and they nodded to me back in respect. The rest of the men were alright but then we got to the ladies. I glared at the two I worked with. One of them was finally learning the moves but the other continued to do it her way.

Go. I dismissed the one that was working and she nodded to me in respect before leaving. I stared at the blonde bimbo that stood in front of me. I got into a fighting position and she glared at me before getting into hers. Her formation was off and her leg was an easy chance to get her down. It was not locked, her shoulders were forward and made her look lazy. Her fists were opened and it was horrible work. I smirked and first slid my leg under hers making her fall. I let her get up before I let her go to punch me. I grabbed her fist and pushed it back making her fall one last time.

Now show respect or it will be worse than you falling on your ass. I growled out and she nodded frantically. She walked away to find a new partner and I looked at King Drakoe. I shook my head and pulled my hood down showing my face. Many gasped at the long scar running along my face and my bright green eyes that showed anger. I glared at everyone that was staring and they went back to work. I pulled my long black hair out of the pony and looked at Drakoe once again.

My work here is done your highness. They have learned the first lesson, respect. They are ready for the Aldnen. I bowed my head slightly and walked away from him. I go towards my room, that was in the training room, and closed the door behind me. I sighed in relief and slid out of my clothing. I got into a pair of black leggings and a blue tank top. I jumped onto my bed and closed my eyes. My job has gotten boring after the hundreds of years that i've been working. A knock echoes around my room and I sighed. I opened my eyes and got up, opening the door. I was now face to face with my sister. I rolled my eyes but silently opened the door wider for her to walk in. She nodded to me and came in, sitting on my bed. I closed the door behind her and stared at her, crossing my arms. She smiled at me sweetly.

What is it sister? I asked annoyed and she rolled her eyes at me. Melody was the kingdom's beauty. Her scarless face showed her dark green eyes, fun written all over them. She had longer hair than I did and she kept it in a braid to accentuate her beauty. She was a little shorter than me at a 5'3. Melody was also the wife of King Drakoe's brother. Melody wore a beautiful dress that showed her curves and went to the ground. It was a light pink and flowed down from a v-neck. I am not very good at descriptions of clothing but she looked absolutely beautiful. Her hair was my favorite however, along with her huge earrings.

"King Drakoe asked me to ask if you would like to come to the ball tonight. I already have the perfect dress." Melody asked. I sighed but nodded. Melody squealed excitedly and grabbed my hoodie, throwing it at me. I put it on quickly and followed her out the door. I pulled the hood up. Melody dragged me around the castle before stopping in front of her room. She opened the golden double doors and showed a huge room. Her room had golden designs all around while mine had black all around. Hers was huge, mine small. Melody's was bright while I mine was very dark. I sighed as she sat me down on the bed and went into the closet. Melody soon came out holding a dress similar to hers but black. I grabbed it gently and went in her bathroom. I quickly slid out of my clothes and then into the dress. It felt weird wearing a dress compared to my fighting clothes that I was used to wearing all of the time.

"Come on." Melody told me with a smile. She grabbed my arms and pushed me onto a chair in front of a mirror. I rolled my eyes as she grabbed makeup out. I crossed my arms and gave her a glare. She sighed but put it back away. Melody then grabbed some stuff for my hair. She curled my hair before putting it up with bobby pins. I stood up and she gave me some heels. I rolled my eyes but put them on anyway. Melody grabbed my arm and dragged me out of her room.

"The ball has already begun but oh well, we are fashionably late." She chuckled and I nodded to her. We walked until we stopped in front of the ballroom doors. Melody glared at the guards and they rushed to open the doors for us. I absolutely hate balls, everyone stared at my scar as we walked. I glared at them and they bowed their heads to me. We walked towards the table in front of us where the royal family sat along with their family. King Drakoe sat at the end of the table. Melody dragged me towards her husband that sat on the right side of Drakoe. The prince let me sit directly next to the King so he could be next to Melody and so I wasn't alone. I nodded to the king and waited to eat.
