Nik and I walk into the bar. I look around to see only a girl in the bar writing stuff down. I narrow my eyes at her as we walk towards a darker man.

"Well, this is a far cry from last night's party." Nik comments just noticing the girl in the bar writing.

"Ah, in pursuit of the bartender from "Rousseau's", I see." NIk smirks at the man.

"She's a work in progress." Marcel exclaims still staring at the girl not even noticing me yet."And yet here you are, pining over her when you should be eating her for lunch. Oh, she must be special." I smirk and he looks at me with a glare."Who are you?" He asks and Nik answers him for me as I go towards the bar stool.

"Business first. The coroner called. He's got my number in case any dead tourists show up." I listen to the men.

"I need some food." I look at the girl and she nods scurrying away.

"Let me guess - dead tourists with a stamp on the hand and vampire blood in their veins?" Nik asks knowing exactly who it was. The girl comes back with a burger and some fries seeing as that was all they had there. "It happens. Someone takes a drunken tumble off a balcony, or into the Mississippi... And today I got two of them to deal with." Marcel makes excuses. Nik rises when he hears the girl  gathering her things and leaving."Excuse me, love. What's that you're studying?" He asks standing in front of the door so she can't leave.
"Abnormal psychology." She answers him with uncertainty.

"Abnormal psychology, well. Perhaps you could help me diagnose my friend over here. He's been a little bit depressed, can't keep his mind off a girl. He tells me she's a queen, fit for a king. I think he should cut his losses and move on. What's your professional opinion?" Nik asks her pointing to Marcel.

"Be a nice guy, and maybe the opportunity will present itself some day." She tells Marcel "How about tonight, nine o'clock? I'll meet you right here?" Marcel asks and I look between the two with a mouthful of burger."I'll take it under consideration." She smirks leaving. I finish my burger and stand up moving towards Nik.

"I will be right back Hayley just texted me to meet her somewhere." I whisper in Nik's ear so Marcel can't hear me.

"Okay love call me when you are home." He whispers back. I nod kissing his cheek and glaring at Marcel walking out of the bar. I walk towards the witchy shop knowing what Hayley wants me to do. Hayley is standing outside with a cup in her hand.

"Yes?" I ask her and she hands me the cup.

"What is it?" I ask her once more looking at the cup.

"It is wolfsbane and witch hazel in tea. You can get rid of this baby now and you can run away from all of this." She grabs my hands leading me to a bench.

"But I don't want to get rid of my baby." I tell her and she shakes her head.

"What is going to happen when you have the baby what is he going to do? You know what he is going to do is put a dagger in your heart." She tells me and I look down at the cup and I nod.

"Come on, Artemis. One upset stomach and all this stupid drama is ancient history." I breath out. I lift the cup toward my face, closing my eyes, I open them and lower the cup again without drinking it. Hayley sighs shaking her head at me, we both hear a branch snap nearby. Hayley stands up, looking around, then turns to find a vampire right in front of her. I stand up ready to fight."Dumb move, coming into the Quarter. You're coming with me, wolf." The vampire growls at Hayley."I have had it up to here with vampires telling me what to do." Hayley growls taking the cup filled with wolfsbane. She throws the cup's contents into his face, and he roars in pain. I spin around, only to be faced with two more vampires. Suddenly Rebekah shows up, snaps the neck of one vampire and rips the heart out of the back of the other."Now, that is no way to treat a pregnant lady. I do hate bad manners." Rebekah says throwing the heart to the ground. I hug her thankfully as Hayley gapes at her, still in shock. We go home and Nik starts throwing the dead bodies in a pile to be burned. Nik throws a final body onto a small pile in the front courtyard while he berates Rebekah and Hayley for their behavior. I look between them even though I know I was part of this.

"This is why I told you never to leave the house. Werewolves are banned in the Quarter. I had a plan, and your little nighttime stroll put it all in peril! Leave him!" Nik growls and Rebekah had started walking toward the pile of bodies - one of them was still alive - but at Nik's last command, she stops.

"You've done enough, don't you think? Leaving a trail of bodies like a road map to my door?" Nik growls at Rebekah mad at her for putting me in danger but more at Hayley."If I hadn't overheard this lot bragging about werewolf heads, everyone here would be screwed. And don't give me that crap about having a plan. You've had all the time in the world to execute a plan, and no one's seen you do a damn thing! Elijah made a deal to protect your child, so that it could save you from your selfish, rotten self. But you obviously don't give a damn about the child or Elijah, because what have you done to honor it?" Rebekah growls at him finally done with his shit."I have done everything. Let me spell it out for you, shall I? From the day I arrived, Marcel hasn't trusted me. From Day One, he's had his vampires ingest toxic vervain which, as you know, little sister, protects them from my mind control." Nik shouts at her. "I needed a spy, someone on the inside with me who Marcel would never suspect. So, I created a Day Zero and got there first. Marcel had just lost six vampires, thanks to your little murder spree, and he needed new recruits. So, I made the new one mine, before he'd had even a drop of vervain." He continues.
